Thoroughly enjoyed the Honestly podcast. Living in South Carolina, I may be prejudice, but her handling and decision making of Matthew was IMO outstanding and representative of good leadership - she was willing to make the tough decision to mandate the evacuation from the coast well ahead of the storm and smart enough to leave final return decisions with the local authorities on the ground. She changed the public’s perception of its state employees with her simple requirement that they answer the phone calls with the message that it was a great day to be in South Carolina. This person knows how to get things accomplished and knows how to solicit the input of others - getting the parties together and not letting them leave until a solution is reached, geez, how often have we wished Washington would do that. I believe America could use the empathy of a women’s touch (yeah, I’m an old white guy) with the diversity of experience growing up to overcome the challenges of America’s prejudices and reaping the rewards of America’s promises.

Thank you. The DeSantis supporters should also take note. In addition, DeSantis has a bright red legislature in FL so it's easy for him to get things passed. The next US president will have no such thing.
