I view Trump as too old and toxic, Vivek as too young and inexperienced. On the other hand, Ramaswamy has a great future and should be part of the political firmament for a long time, perhaps even as president. But unless DeSantis gets his act together, Trump will be the candidate.

Bari, on the other hand, reveals much when she exclaims "[a]nd yet, I look at the way that Trump dismantled the moral guardrails that keep bigotry to the fringes, the way he normalized things that should be stigmatized, the way that he played to people’s basest instincts. I believe there could be no policy that is as important as keeping civility and unity in our democracy." This is utter nonsense. Trump's actions were not bigoted. His hatred of illegal immigration is principled and fair. He appointed many minorities but touted their credentials not their skin color. Moreover, Bari's class of NY Times-influenced urban elites were the ones who made it impossible for Trump to govern and incited his worst excesses. The machinations of Strzok and Page were not made up. The constant anti-Trump drumbeat of the leftist media was not an illusion. The incessant insubordination of the deep state was no figment of the imagination. The suppression of truth by the media and tech giants against Trump is no canard. When people are deceived and misled for four years, their baser instincts tend to come out. But who were the liars and practitioners of legerdemain? Not Trump but the chattering classes to which Bari still clings, apparently.
I was really disappointed by Bari with this interview. A moral imperative for the war in Ukraine? Excuse me, are we not allowed to question? Trump dismantled our moral guardrails? What, pray tell, did either Clinton , Obama, or Grampa Joe do? Dismissing a universal American civics test as “a gimmick”? It’s long past time for us to instill in every American the notion of rights AND responsibilities. Bari is where she is because the meritocratic values Vivek is promoting haven’t been totally obliterated by the left — yet. She was chewed up and spit out by the establishment and sparked a revolution of her own. I hope Vivek’s First Principles platform sets the bar for her future interviews. I think she’ll find the only other candidate who’ll come close in enthusiasm and idealism is Tim
I 100% agree with your assessment of Bari showing her true colors during this interview. It was the first time I found myself disliking her.... She typically comes off as very fair, but still asking tough questions. Today, she was a liberal openly dismissing both Vivek and Republicans.
It actually really put me off Bari. She swears she doesn't have TDS then acts as if Trump caused the "moral" issues and ignores what the left has been doing to him. A large part of her customers here are more right leaning yet she still doesn't seem to understand why people supported and support Trump. She said because he appeals to "baser instincts". WTF. That is insulting and so devoid of understanding it is laughable.
Whats most salient is that Trumps only real crime is speaking of his enemies in a qualitatively similar way to how they speak of him. They are not used to it, and often seemingly shocked how ugly their words sound when directed back at them.
Yeah, I caught that, too. The "Trump is a bigot and supports bigots" was a narrative cooked up by the Leftist media. Everything they tried to quote to "prove" it was invariably taken radically out of context. That, alone, convinced me of the utter untrustworthiness of the media.
I didn't vote for Trump in 2016. I've never liked him. He'd been a bloviating ass for the prior 40 years, and I didn't expect that would change. So when my youngest daughter started parroting the "Trump is literally Hitler" stuff, I started paying close attention to what he was saying and doing. And it was quite obvious that he was not even remotely "literally Hitler." The mismatch between his actual words and actions and what people with TDS were claiming about him was too vast a gap to ignore.
I didn't want to vote for him in 2020, but I did, because the Democrats had become literally insane.
I saw a post on Instagram saying Trump was never known as a racist until he became Republican.
It was ‘fact checked’ underneath and the fact check said Trump was known as racist long before running as a Republican.
The underlying ‘fact’ was that in the late 70s the Trump Org was sued as part of a nationwide lawsuit against numerous large property owners which alleged discrimination
Obviously, the host of The Apprentice was not a “known racist”. That’s a psychotic assertion.
So the fact check was a lie and I can’t decide if this is more petty or creepy.
You describe my experience exactly - I also didn't vote Trump in 2016 for the same reasons, but when faced with him or Biden in 2020 I voted for Trump. I really like Vivek.
Great observation. I thought that "if Trump were literally Hitler," then Griffin, Madonna, Judd et al would have been strung up with piano wire and subjected to gruesome tortures by his Gestapo. Instead they warbled on unmolested and the "Gestapo" was actually conspiring with the DNC to cook up some phony Russian collusion story and lie to FISA courts. Bari's narrative is unfortunate, to say the least.
Our life was great so was Israel’s Celia. For my family that was of huge importance. Don’t get me wrong our lives are still good in America but under President Trump it was fantastic. I’m sure the Herr and a few others will blast me into space for my views but I’m going out on a limb “bring back the orange man” it will soon return to normal boys will be boys, girls - girls and women!s sport will be for women + their bathrooms will not be invaded with the strange people that at the moment are continuing to habit women’s spaces.🇺🇸🇺🇸
Winning is the most important, and even though I voted against Hillary (for DJT) in 2016 and voted for Trump in 2020, AND, thought he did well until Nov 4, 2020, I am absolutely convinced he cannot win the general election. He is the only GOP candidate that can lose to Biden or whomever the Dem's put forward.
I understand all the consternation about the 2020 "steal", but mail in ballots galore turned the tide and the Dem's outmaneuvered the GOP. The same would happen in 2024. There is Hillary like hatred for DJT on the left and he has lost the middle. Heck, he lost to Joe Biden, something no one running for president has ever done before!!
This is spot on. Hillary lost because there was just THAT MUCH hatred of her. Trump is in exactly the same position right now: there are too many people who hate him THAT MUCH that he could never win.
One of my favorite teachers got mad at me in 2016. She was going on and on about how afraid she was of Trump, he’s Hitler 2.0 etc. I told her I supported him and if he turned out to be Hitler she could hide in my attic, just to highlight her absurd histrionics.
I cannot agree more with both of you. Here’s what I think happens to democrats.
Biden will throw Harris overboard. Tell us she did a fine job on the border but now a bigger need is in place that only Gavin Newsom can fill. He’ll be on the ticket with Biden.
Agree, Bari is imagining things. Trump put into words a few things that every politician thinks but doesn’t have the guts to say, and that honesty got him elected.
There were never any moral guardrails; Trump was merely the first candidate and president to stop pretending there were.
So you noticed that, too? When #MeToo exploded, there was egg (or was it something else?) all over the faces of the feminists who had decided to sexually sacrifice other women on the altar of "but Bill Clinton is a pro-woman candidate."
The hypocrisy was/is sickening. Anyone with a brain does not trust a fox with promoting the welfare of chickens (except perhaps to fatten them up for later).

Scott. Now, wouldn’t that be a fun ticket.
I 100% agree with your assessment of Bari showing her true colors during this interview. It was the first time I found myself disliking her.... She typically comes off as very fair, but still asking tough questions. Today, she was a liberal openly dismissing both Vivek and Republicans.
No. But I agree with the rest of your comment.
I think he is too young as well and I think DeSantis would make a very good president but he is a horrible campaigner.
Oh so true Bruce!

Nailed it. And no, Bari still doesn’t get it.
👍👍

"Radically out of context" Lol.
Can't wait to hear this....

I don't like Trump either. Neither do many conservatives.
The real question is was your life that bad under his 4 years?
Have they been better in the last 2 1/2?
Party and policies are more important than person.
My life has been fine under both, as I assume most other's have been.
My life was a lot better under Trump; that is a fact.
Well, except for the part where I had to watch Democrats descend into insanity every day.
Our life was great so was Israel’s Celia. For my family that was of huge importance. Don’t get me wrong our lives are still good in America but under President Trump it was fantastic. If Trump is the R candidate we lose big time.
sweet - two white privileged men on the ballot....
folks heads would explode
Oh, the horror... The White Male privileged patriarchy in charge again!

There were some moral guardrails...until the Democrats supported Bill Clinton in spite of his behavior in the Oval Office (literally).
Yeah the day the feminists went silent....
So you noticed that, too? When #MeToo exploded, there was egg (or was it something else?) all over the faces of the feminists who had decided to sexually sacrifice other women on the altar of "but Bill Clinton is a pro-woman candidate."
