I'm afraid, Mr. Page, that you are wrong about 'septillion', which really is a real word, however, unfortunately, you are not wrong in feeling like the new quantum chip is going to kill us somehow.

Really dig your writing.

Concerning the drones in New Jersey: Didn’t we create a whole new Combatant Command in DoD called US Northern Command which owns the American side of the North American Aerospace Defense Command or NORAD? Why do you think nobody, not the press and not Congress, has asked US NORtHCOM about those drones?

What is the reason we can’t get the same type of information on crooks as we did mangione?

I also feel obligated to point out that people with back pain may turn to cannabis or hallucinogens for relief, which can trigger psychosis in the genetically-vulnerable. Again, I have no idea if any of this is relevant for him.

It seems as if everything is an excuse, and there is an excuse for everything. Who and what can we blame? Enough already! It's time people were held accountable for their actions. Stop with the mitigating circumstances.

"Last week, Pete Hegseth, Trump’s pick to be secretary of defense, appeared to be in trouble. Republican senators were voicing their doubts amid a flurry of accusations over his treatment of women and his alleged mismanagement of two veterans’ charities. Trump reportedly spoke to Florida governor Ron DeSantis about replacing Hegseth. But the veteran and Fox & Friends host dug in. Trump reiterated his support, and this week Hegseth went back to the Hill to press his case."

Dec 11, 2024 The Will Cain Show

First Sergeant Eric Geressy and Staff Sergeant Cliff Meros, two Army veterans who served under Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth, joined Will Cain to praise Hegseth's leadership style of leading from the front and placing his men ahead of himself.

They, along with hundreds of others who have served alongside Hegseth, have signed a petition backing him as he continues moving forward in the nomination process.

I didn't know about the Penn professor's comments. I am a Penn alumnus who made annual donations to Penn for years -- until October 7, 2023. The professor's comments are another reason that I am glad that I stopped donating to Penn. I also agree with the comments about Buttigieg. He is so superficial and overrated!

I have no idea if this is relevant for Mangione, but he is at an age when schizophrenia often presents itself, as brain pruning to prepare for full adulthood goes awry. This can be why seemingly high functioning young adults start to withdraw and deteriorate. A huge stressor like back pain could exacerbate it. Despite the current distrust of psychiatric medication, If someone does have schizophrenia, it is critical that they start antipsychotic medication sooner rather than later. Withholding it is like withholding blood pressure medication for those with hypertension.

Agreed, but his family could have easily had the surgery redone, and as many have mentioned, shooting a man in the back to make a weasely point and act out for the cameras going into court is inexcusable. Note to patients: $10/mo. Premiums do not cover $100,000/yr. In services. You run out of other taxpayers’ money.

It is his actions that make me question whether he is psychotic/delusional, and even more concerning, what this says about us as a society that so many people celebrate cold-blooded murders as "justice," such as shooting an executive in the back or raping and murdering Israelis on October 7.

I keep thinking about the movie title The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Am I the only one who wonders about the heroics of shooting a defenseless man in the back as he walks to work in the morning? Do I really care about John Ford’s or Luigi Mangone’s politics or disabilities or any other lame and lamentable excuses for their cowardly acts? But I guess, in a country that can make a martyr of George Floyd or Jordan Neely, anything is possible.

"A federal judge in Oregon blocked the merger of grocery giants Kroger and Albertsons ... Judge Adrienne Nelson said that supermarkets do not compete directly with big box stores, and that eliminating head-to-head competition among grocery stores could raise prices for consumers."

She may be right on the latter point, but is completely wrong on the former.

I live close to a Safeway, which has probably lost 3/4 of my business to the Costco that's a few miles further down the road.

In my own world, the local supermarket competes VERY directly with that 'big box' store.

The inside word from Idaho is Kroger dodged a bullet. Albertsons has been sold before and is arguably an empty box.

Perhaps, but that isn't grounds for the legal decision.

I'm agnostic on the deal itself, I won't claim to understand whether it'd be good or not. But the grounds to deny the deal, if the legal rationalization described was a major element (ie grocers don't really compete vs Walmart or Costco), that is highly flawed.

As for the merger, I guess the lawsuits on which side is to blame are already happening. Sure sounds like it'd have been a disaster, given the rather clear distrust between the companies.

Perhaps Hegseth understands that the internal culture of the Pentagon is what is creating its difficulties in facing the threats that face the country.

We need warriors like Daniel Penny who commit to protecting the country regardless of the consequences to them personally. Men & women who will say that they could not have forgiven themselves if they stood back and allowed someone else to be hurt or killed.
