Regardless of DeSantis’s political motives, I fail to see how it’s ‘cruel’ to provide free, comfortable air travel to the safe, progressive, diversity-loving sanctuary of Martha’s Vineyard for 50 poor people who risked their lives to come into this country illegally. What might be cruel is the enticement from Biden’s rhetoric and policies to make the dangerous trek across Mexico to illegally enter the US and the implicit expectation that Texas and Florida will just have to suck it up, because: politics. What might be cruel is for American cities and communities to virtuously signal themselves as sanctuaries for undocumented migrants, only to angrily hoist the NIMBY flag the moment these human beings, risking all for a better life, actually show up.

DeSantis was just returning the favor. The immigrants in Fl were originally flown there by the federal gubmint.

It's only cruel to the self-satisfied, sanctimonious twits who inhabit that island to have their hypocrisy exposed. And to watch them tie themselves in knots trying to explain why illegals have no place there, but need to be in our country.

Is exposing hypocrisy cruel? What a fascinating question!
