I'm disappointed in this editorial because it does not address Talib's claim.

She claims not all protesters are treated equally.

Yes, the anti-semitic protestors were treated to the letter of the law but did other protesters - enviro wackos, violent ANTIFA and BLM rioter/protesters etc also get treated to the letter of the law?

Talib says they were not. Is that true? If it is false, please report it.

If the other leftwing protesters were treated differently, why?

That is a legit question and central to the question of bias and bigotry.

Firstly, she's prosecuting pro-Israel protestors too, as mentioned in the article. Additionally, the protesters you mentioned did not target and terrorize people based on their culture or religion, they weren't supporting terrorism, or calling for the destruction of a country. They also didn't repeatedly thumb their nose at the law after being warned numerous times. The pro-Palestinian protestors did all the above and more. The pro-Israel counter-protesters did not, yet are still being prosecuted by Nessel.

And the fact she and many other prosecutors made the mistake of giving a free pass to protesters/rioters upset about what was happening in this country during a moment of national upheaval, doesn't mean they can never again prosecute people for breaking the law.

I would like to see her answer questions about why protestors were treated differently.

Seems like part of the story.

I live and work in Detroit...we did not have any of the summer of love 2020 "mostly peaceful protests", so I have no idea what Talib is talking about. While I am fully against the Leftist agenda in general, Dana Nessel has done an ok job IMO...especially for a Dem in 2024.

I live on the other side of the state, and IMO she's been an awful AG. She went after business owners who didn't bow the knee during the lockdowns as though they were the worst criminals ever, and she refused to prosecute anyone for the nursing home deaths that occurred also during the pandemic. Thankfully there are term limits for AGs in Michigan, so she will be done in two years.

State law mandated that she prosecute. She was doing her job.

I believe I said she was doing the right thing in this instance. But more times than not she isn't doing her job.

Why didn't she prosecute other protestors?

I would like the question asked.

Agree, and I don’t know enough about Nessal from his article. When I finished reading it I thought I must have missed something.
