"We can forgive Arabs for killing our children, but we can't forgive them for forcing us to kill their children. We will only have peace with the Arabs when they learn to love their children more than they hate us." -- Golda Meir

That will be never. They are evil, and they love power and destruction far more than their own children (in fact, they quite often kill their own children to boost their own “honor”.

This is the thing that really puzzles me. Hamas was well aware that Israel would strike back, and that many inhabitants of Gaza would be killed as a result. Are they hoping that the world will see only the pictures of dead Gazans and rally to their cause?

They have made themselves into al Qaeda after 9/11. Reviled and despised by rightfully outraged people the world over who are now deaf and indifferent to whatever their "cause" might be. It does seem counterproductive to their aims, in the extreme.

They don't care. They don't want the 2-state agreement to come to fruition. The UAE and Israel coming close to terms was a reason behind this attack. The naive Pro-Palestinian wokesters in la la land don't get this. These are terrorists and they do not want peace or 2 nation states. They want all the Jews out of Israel. And they're ok with massacring all the Jews if that's one way of getting them out of there.

Really. I have been pondering this. These are clearly terrorists but terrorists use criminal actions to levy a politicol position. Their only political position is death to every Jew.

The Palestinians have rejected a two-state solution for decades.

It is Hamas's openly stated goal to wipe out Israel. And yet Leftists try to equivocate.

And another thing Leftists ignore is the way Palestinians are treated by other Arabs. This has never been about a homeland for Arabs who lived in the area that is now Israel (and it is worth noting that many of those Arabs stayed put and became Israeli citizens). This is about a pan-Arabian desire to destroy Jews.

Two states implies the continued existence of Israel, which they won't tolerate. Besides religious fanaticism and anti-Semitism, I think their goal is to make life so difficult for the Israelis that they'll give up and leave.

The other Arab states despise the Palestinians. Kuwait hired Palestinians as laborers and when Iraq invaded Kuwait, the Palestinians stood in the streets and cheered them.

Could be a master plan of Iran for these two entities to destroy themselves, thus achieving what they've always wanted, the elimination of Israel.

Devil be damned the number of lives lost.

That's the thing that terrifies me about Iran having nukes. The leaders of Iran do not care about the lives of their own people. They do not care about retaliatory strikes. I'm sure they have blast-proof bunkers to protect themselves, but they have no qualms about "martyring" the common people of Iran by dropping nukes on Israel (and provoking nuclear retaliation).

Likely not just the Middle East. That was the point of On the Beach.

But hey, Israel will be destroyed, and that's all they really care about. And the Muslims affected by the fallout around Israel will be mostly Sunnis. And Shiites who die will be blessed martyrs, so it's all good in the minds of Iran's leaders.

Ah, another academic is here to lecture us; that we don't see what's happening with our own lying eyes. Nobody needs a PhD to understand hatred. A PhD is ONLY good for proving the corollary to axiom that "those who do, do - those who can't teach".

Not at all. I’m merely saying this conflict has been written about and studied for generations and so far a lasting solution has yet to be found. I suspect the same will be true going forward.

What a ridiculous non-sequitur. Academics “writing and studying for generations” has never solved any real world problem. Mental masturbation in the ivory tower padded cells has no bearing on any human condition, save for those stroking their own egos.

The problem is simple. “whole PhD theses” notwithstanding.

That is their plan. Iran is trying to block a plan to normalize relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel, a plan that would reinforce the agreements with Jordan, Egypt, etc. In addition to normalizing relations, these agreements are isolating Iran. The Arabs in Gaza and the West Bank are pawns. Hamas is a subsidiary of Iran; they both need the Palestinians to publicly suffer so that the Arab/Muslim world will rally to their cause.

Yes, this is intended to rile up Arabs to disrupt the Abraham Accords and the potential normalization of a Saudi-Israel relations.

I turned on NPR this morning to check in on the propaganda machine, just in time to hear them describe the Gazans trapped under rubble from Israeli retaliation strikes. To be fair they also reported on the devastation Israelis suffered but they led the story by padding it with bothsidesism. When you’re an ideologue your ideals come first. Children second. But now they get to play victim with their murdered children on the world stage so SJWs can frame Israel as the villain yet again. 🤦🏻‍♀️

It is not just NPR:

A group of 31 Harvard organizations, including the Ivy League institution's affiliate of Amnesty International, has placed the blame on Israel for Hamas' brutal, surprise attack that has killed hundreds of Israelis. The Harvard organizations have declared that the murders, rapes, kidnappings, and other atrocities committed by Hamas against innocent people are in no way the fault of Hamas, but are rather entirely the fault of Israel.

The organizations released a letter to the public as a Joint Statement by Harvard Palestine Solidarity Groups:

"We, the undersigned student organizations, hold the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence ... the apartheid regime is the onlyone to blame".

The groups have also taken credit for getting the Harvard Crimson, the school's student newspaper, to support BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) of Israel.

These delusional groups include the school's African American Resistance Organization, Amnesty International, 'Harvard Act on a Dream,' groups of Muslim and South Asian students from the Kennedy and Chan schools, the Harvard Islamic Society and Harvard Jews for Liberation.

Condemnation of Israel has reached a point at which I'd be shocked if these racist bigoted hate groups didn't respond to Israel protecting itself in such a predictably disgusting fashion.
