I'm for free speech but colleges that don't allow racial slurs against other groups shouldn't allow them against Jews. If a college wouldn't permit students to carry signs or chant "Kill all the blacks," they shouldn't allow protesters to proclaim "Kill all the Jews." This doesn't mean shutting down debate about the war in Gaza, but plainly antisemetic messages aren't debate.

If a college would expel any student for a racist comment (no matter how far back in the student's past--which is something that has actually happened), they need to expel any student who makes an antisemitic comment. If a college would fire a professor for merely saying the "wrong thing" about the preparation of black students for college, they need to fire professors who promote antisemitic propaganda.

It is not a question of free speech. It is a question of blatant university biases and the actions that those universities take as a result. A student who thinks Israel is a genocidal, colonial, illegitimate state is literally safer on most college campuses than a student who thinks our southern border should not be open.
