They're both fixable, but not likely in either case. We are becoming more entrenched and unwilling to negotiate. Both sides view the other as evil and when you view someone or a group as evil, you justify your own evil acts in your attempts to thwart them as you inevitably fall into the trap of believing that the means justifies the ends.
There really is no negotiating with a Democrat party that believes in the inculcation that biology is flexible, that words can mean whatever we want them to mean, laws and the Constitution are suggestions. There is no equivalence between the two. The party that emulates the "Rules for Radicals" handbook can't be compromised with. And the GOP stands back and let's it happen.
