No objection here. I think your point deserves more exploration. I sincerely believe that our sense of community has changed, even over the course of my relatively short 34 years. People used to meet face-to-face. Church, school, the front porch, etc-those things used to be the community. As you say, the screen has replaced that (as I ironically type this on my phone). Even more troubling for me, is the fact that folks seem increasingly unable to look past what they see and listen to on those screens. A great many seem more likely to believe what MSNBC or Fox News tells them to think about their neighbor than to trust their own interactions.
