Honestly I have hard time finding sympathy for people like Mr Nammack.

From reading this, I have a feeling that he was very active in voting for these policies and only now when the problem has hit close to home, there is call for action.

Giuliani managed to clean up NYC, make it safest big city in USA, after him, we had Bloomberg (who was Republican in Name only), Bill de Blasio (candidate for worst Mayor in NYC history) who have failed NYC on every step.

For years, situation in Big Apple was in downward spiral, people are regulary at attacked, pushed on rails in subway, and answer was always, Police is the problem, Criminals are victims.

Similar thing we see now with immigrants that are being send from Texas and Florida to "Sanctuary Cities", they loved immigrants until they showed up on their doorstep and were very happy to support them, so long they were some ones else problem.

long story short, you get what you voted for. In this case Mr Nammack saw first hand effect of policies he voted and supported. As always you get what you vote for. I honestly hope that Mr Nammack and his neighbors will vote differently in the future.

Until the problem directly effects them, many people don’t care enough. The elite living in Martha’s Vineyard as well as DC mayor Muriel Bowser were stunned with the number of illegals coming to their island/city because they don’t have the means to handle them…yet they think El Paso can handle 1000/ day. Doesn’t get more hypocritical than that.

El Paso is a town of almost 700k. We get that many a day here in a town of about 35k. Every day I pass the Greyhound pick up (we're too small to have an actual depot), and there are always multiple busloads waiting.

And that doesn't include the 100's sent by bus daily to San Antonio to catch a bus or a plane to other parts of the country. All on taxpayer's dime.

I’m sorry. This is a federal problem and so wrong the way it’s been handled. Media is just as much to blame for their intentional lack of reporting. Hopefully people are more aware now and will put forth some effort to find the facts!

What bothers me even more is conservative pundit types who are much more bothered by DeSantis’s “stunt” than by the chaos clearly created by Biden’s immigration policy. To me, they’re as whacko as the people depicted here but with better clothes and grammar.

I think you're giving Mr. Nammack too much credit. I doubt he made a connection between liberal policies and the increase in crime. If anything, he probably thinks that the policies didn't go far enough (far left, that is).

Giuliani managed to clean up NYC only because enough of the WW2 generation were still alive and recognized that 1950s-60s liberalism had failed. It was a one-time thing.

Now that generation is gone, and younger people like this Nammack creature are so invested in their woke ideologies as to be blind to the realities that confront them right outside their doors. Sadly, Mr. Giuliani could not pull off the same reforms again, with these kinds of people as the primary constituents.

The irony is that as these Democrat run cities deteriorate, the Liberals KEEP voting Democrats in!! And simply because the deterioration is seen as reinforcing their beliefs that Conservatives are all a “bunch of deplorable racist” who must be defeated, at all cost! Insanity of the Liberals is not realizing, or accepting THEY have created this mess!

Poor education. They don't read books, they have zero respect or appreciation for European and American culture. Probably none of them believe in a religion, or have any kind of moral code of behavior. They think religion is just dogma and superstition, and the rules of behavior are for suckers.

With such people, you can't have a civilization. All you can have is a free-for-all anarchy, which is what we're moving toward pretty quickly.

Bloomie may have spoken like a liberal (and he is one of the more annoying people on the planet) but the city prospered under him because he retained Rudy's policing policies. Under Big Bird it all went to hell.

Giuliani put the feral thugs in their place, Bloomberg kept them in their place and DeBlasio let them out of their cages. It's so good to see Park Slope suffering like everyone else. These people are just wacky. Park Slope is largely white and gave Joe Biden 85% of the vote. So it appears that the more homogeneous a White neighborhood is, the more left wing and loony the people are.

And yet somehow the towns full of white people out here in flyover country have managed to remain sane.

So far but my county is under a turn-it-blue assault.

Ugh! My county--which has historically been pro-Democrat (due to union workers)--is getting redder and redder (due to union workers realizing that Democrats no longer have their best interests at heart).

You think that is amusing? I live in a county that is about 90% Hispanic, historically a reliable voting bloc for Democrats.

Beto gave a speech here last week that maybe a dozen people showed up for.

Back in 2016, in January or February, Hillary made a stop in our little town. The chosen location was the *middle-school* lunchroom. No one was allowed inside until she arrived, despite it being a frigidly cold evening. She was at least an hour late. When people were finally allowed inside, once the limited number of seats were full, everyone else was turned away, regardless of how long they had waited in the cold.

Speaks volumes, doesn't it? Our self-proclaimed "elites" have nothing but contempt for us. So, should we not return it, with relish? Vote every one of them out. Increase significantly the marginal tax rate for anyone "earning" over $1 million per year. And turn the Republican Party into a party that truly represents working Americans with time-honored values of America First, personal responsibility and family.

Well, I promise you the low turnout was due to freezing conditions here.
