Greenwald is the guy who Megyn Kelly continues to platform to spread more lies about Jews/Israel. Pathetic.

Someone has to take on those freaks working out personal issues in the real world and point out objective reality. Well done!

The Israel conspiracy theorists don’t care if their accusations make any sense. They like to pull one fact or allegation and ignore any of the information around it. And it works… people that want to believe this garbage pick up with whatever gets thrown out and run with it. These lies and libels go around the world 50 times before anyone even has a chance to point out how idiotic they are; and by then they are considered factual on the basis of repetition anyway. There is no winning when people are motivated not to listen to anything but their ‘gut’.

But the gut is filled with shit. So, literal shit is the arbiter of our belief systems these days. good luck to us all.

Coleman Hughes is one of the wisest voices (despite his youth) we have in this country. I literally can't think of any issue where I've thought "well, I don't agree with him on that," and there are very few, if any, other public intellectuals I can say I agree with virtually 100 percent of the time.

I have no idea how extensive his reach is (hopefully far and wide), but I do my best to ensure everyone in my orbit pays attention to what he's talking and writing about. It would make for a much better country if people paid attention to him and if they disagree with him, engage with him on the merits of his arguments rather than dismissing him because he's not part of either side's echo chamber.

So much of it is common sense, backed by facts and evidence, and which is pretty difficult to make cogent arguments against. He is so well prepared for whatever arguments people throw his way.

Keep up the good work Coleman, you're a spokesman for many, plus you have the special ability to argue (debate?) calmly, respectfully, and in good faith, without putting down those who disagree with you- a model of how disagreements should be discussed, and so rare in today's world.

When talking about “powerful “Israel lobby, nothing was said about how many lobbyists AIPAC has on the Hill. Please compare this to the number of lobbyists of countries in the Middle East and elsewhere. Oh AIPAC NOT SO BIG, right? Oil rich countries, how much influence do they have? Coleman never talks about the elephant in the room.

Mark's avatar

Sorry, I don’t understand what point you’re trying to make.

Paul Hickey's avatar

So what are the numbers? You appear to already know.

Look at the controversy over young Republicans, Israel, and Nazis at what’s supposed to be Flagship U. for Trump and AIPAC’s fantasy of defeating the strong leftwing bias against Israel at all our best colleges. Look at the almost even split of beans for and against Israel and its Iran War at CPAC this wekend. Rich Jewish donors are more powerful than ever in the Republican Party they now dominate with their tool, Trump. But paradoxically, their very power pushing Trump into war is now seriously splitting and weakening their party in its ‘26 and ‘28 wars with Israel and AIPAC’s liberal enemies in the Democratic Party. Nothing disunites conservatives like Israel and the Iran War.

“There is no explanation for this other than Israel derangement syndrome.“

Agreed, but there is a more accurate word.

Great work Coleman!

Thanks for rolling up your sleeves and engaging with these morons, Coleman. Their reasoning is so blatantly antisemitic and confused that it has to be rebutted forcefully. My inclination is to not engage with people who are so deranged and toxic, to not dignify their drivel with a response. But if not addressed, this kind of nonsense takes hold among others who also see themselves as powerless victims and who would rather blame the Jews for their problems - even if to just get attention online - than take any responsibility to try to build a better world.

Thank you for this level-headed rebuttal of Greenwald in your discussion. I was appalled listening to his rehashing and reworking of antisemitic tropes to support his views. How on earth can less than two percent of a country's population control it? It can't, no matter how you look at it. It is truly hair raising that so many buy into what Greenwald is saying.

Thank-ypu Coleman for highlighting the truth.

Coleman wins. He and Douglas Murray could out-think a platoon of confused leftists.

Mark's avatar

And rightists, as Glenn Greenwald is (tho tbf, he's probably more of a libertarian than conservative). :)

The great thing about Coleman is that he takes on the left and right and avoids either echo chamber, instead relying on facts and evidence.

Greenwald makes no mention of the many Muslim lobbyists and the obscene amount of money coming from Muslim countries that are attempting to whitewash Islam’s atrocities around the world and force upon us a glossed up version of Islam.

Don't forget about corruption of Wikipedia to control the Islamist narrative.

What about the settlers attacking Arab villages in the West Bank ? The unpunished murders on the West Bank ?

The 72,000 dead in the Gaza concentration camp ?

The seizure of southern Lebanon ?

Paul Hickey's avatar

How do these questions have any bearing on Israeli influence over US policy?

Matthew's avatar

Yikes, did you even read the article or listen to any of Coleman's podcasts? What about the unprovoked murders of Jews in Judea and Samaria? What concentration camp? Over half of that disputed number is Hamas. Hezbollah used South Lebanon as a terror base and the Lebanese Army did nothing to live up to the Lebanese government's promise to disarm Hezbollah. Happy now, or are you going to make up some more antisemitic tropes and lies?

I am grateful for Coleman’s clear, logical thinking in a world of hyper bad information, especially with regards to Israel. It’s almost like Coleman is wired to be hyper-rational, and cognitively unbiased. Coleman has become a major defender of israel and the Jewish people. Not because he has some specific connection to israel (that I’m aware of), nor because some Jewish cabal or lobby is paying him off. But simply because israel are so clearly the “good guys” in the Middle East story. Israel is not perfect and makes plenty of mistakes, which Coleman often calls out. But israel overwhelmingly has the moral high ground versus its radical, jihadist, terrorist neighbors in Hamas, Hezbollah, and the IRGC. The kicker is that, in a hypothetical world where israel were to become the bad guys, Coleman’s views would change accordingly in real time. That’s a key point. And that is what it means to be a fair and free thinker and journalist. Keep doing what you are doing, Coleman.

Tim Amyx's avatar

David, that is PERFECTLY said. Great re-cap. Yes, bottom line, in a world where morality is clear, unbiased, logical, non tied to a radical view of a religion - Israel is the "good guy".

this thread was in some other columists and pundits dialogs 8n the last few days almost verbatim but we are debating the iraq war…

The centerpiece of this narrative is a historical claim: that Israel got the United States into the Iraq War. In reality, Israel’s prime minister came to the White House to caution President Bush against invading Iraq, warning that it would empower Iran, Israel’s real enemy. Bush listened politely, then ignored him and invaded anyway, because American presidents make their own choices, for good and for ill.
