For the last time. The sentencing guidelines are to be followed by judges and are absolutely color blind. If black defendants are 1.8 times more likely to be liable to life sentences under the guideline, that's just how the guidelines work. They are colorblind. Because black defendants actually receive life sentences at a rate 1.6 times that of whites, they are actually given such sentences at a rate that is lower than the guidelines prescribe. I don't know why this is so difficult for you.
