Initially I bristled at the headline for this write up. Austin has a huge comedy history and already from my perspective is the very heartbeat of creative ridiculousness. The Big Stinkin Comedy Fest which was replaced later by Out of Bounds. Esther’s Follies. The Funniest Person in Austin contest, all of the made-up mayhem at the Hideout Theatre... I was worried this was gonna be a regular Moontower Comedy Fest Debacle - claiming to be the first real comedy in town (boo Moontower... do your homework!)

... but actually I loved the write up. I had no idea Rogan bought the Ritz, but it’s super perfect. The Ritz was bought by the Alamo Drafthouse at one point and hosted loads of hilarious and wonderful quote-alongs, sing-alongs and more. To hear it’s become something amazing brings me much joy because that venue was meant for good times!

And Joes right. Texas is awesome! I miss living there like crazy. Best NYE I ever had was the one where I went to see Joe Rogan at Cap City.

I hope the Mothership takes off. It’s certainly exciting to read about!
