Yet another reason to leave California, an aspiring totalitarian state. Shame on us that we gave up so many of our rights so willingly. Shame on the church which gave up the right of worship. As Physicians we are patient advocates. Period. I’ve told my med students and residents it might cost them their jobs or licenses but they must stay true to their calling. As a Christian I am on record that I will be imprisoned for my beliefs during my lifetime.
As a California resident, after watching my city destroyed by the Democrats who run it, I have purchased property in a red state. The Democrat-run media would have you believe midwestern red states are full of racist methheads—but what I’ve found is quite the opposite. My new friends and neighbors, highly diverse, are kind, intelligent, and still believe in freedom and self-responsibility. That is evident when I drive for miles and see no garbage on the streets or homeless encampments. California is run by Democrats who will do whatever it takes to hold on to their power—and they are paid handsomely for it by out-of-state interlopers who are trying to hurt the country. (Under the guise of prison reform, Soros-backed Gascon was elected DA of Los Angeles and has stopped prosecuting violent criminals). If doctors can’t practice medicine ethically in California, they will chose other states to practice in—another nail in the coffin of a once great state.
I agree. I hope California Democrats STAY in California...they are too irrational, politics has become their religion--at least the ones I know. They are consumed by hatred of anyone who thinks differently from them.

Meanwhile, a callow politician with no medical training gets to dictate to you how you should treat your patients. Makes perfect sense.
