Welcome to the world where dissent is not tolerated, and the penalty for such dissent is nullification. Open and honest discourse for these "woke" denizens of the incorrect would harm their fragile ecosystem. Independent thought is a dangerous thing to these types, as they would not be able to withstand any discussion that did not follow their "predetermined by others tropes". Marching in lockstep is their salvation. They cannot even realize that the policies established by the "public health elite" change daily to satisfy the whims of a few misfits. The fact that these people can contradict themselves in the same sentence is more than I can tolerate. Thank goodness, I practice in Florida, land of the free and home of the brave, where our legislature does not act live a wounded beast.

Two words my friend: leave California.

Sure the weather is nice, but you can always visit. It’s kind of like the toilet - good to go with some regularity, but you don’t wanna live in it.

The author of this bill, Evan Low, is also the co-author of SB 1100 -- which has now been amended, but would in its original form have allowed local legislative bodies to eject speakers from public meetings, or to eject whole audiences and conduct meetings in rooms emptied of the public, for excessive criticism of government officials or the use of a harsh tone. The bill was introduced under the title, "Open meetings: orderly conduct," because criticizing government is very disorderly.

There's a theme to his legislative work.

Thank you Dr Bhattachayra and your colleagues with the Barrington Declaration and Brownstone Institute, and Substack, for what you are doing. We need true scientific inquiry and journalistic integrity, or we will become an authoritarian state

The California State Legislature is like the Borg in Star Trek Next Generation.

You are one of four. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. Deviance in thought or action is intolerable and punishment is swift, severe and final.

The worst humanity has produced was bottled in Groupthink.

"Another statement in the bill’s preamble asserts that the “safety and efficacy of Covid vaccines have been confirmed through evaluation by the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA).” But vaccine safety also depends on any given patient’s clinical circumstances. For example, there is an elevated risk of myocarditis in young men taking the vaccine, especially with the booster."

That is a weak, or at least woefully incomplete, rebuttal, IMO.

Vaccines would typically undergo 3-5 YEARS of testing before the decision on whether to approve would be made. These jabs have been around for 15 months, and, were made available after about 90 DAYS of (rigged) testing, after which the control group was jabbed!!

This statement: the “safety and efficacy of Covid vaccines have been confirmed through evaluation by the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA)" is patently and completely false, a g/d LIE, because there exists exactly ZERO long-term data about the jabs' "safety and efficacy". No such "safety and efficacy" can possibly be "confirmed" in the short time the jabs have been available...and I might add, STILL only available under an EUA. If in fact the “safety and efficacy of Covid vaccines have been confirmed through evaluation by the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA)", then there would be no more need for the EUA and it could and would be rescinded.

THAT kind of rebuttal is needed against the POS human beings in the CA legislature who are advancing this bill. That kind of rebuttal, not the milquetoast "oh, but myocarditis".

Reject the premise, dammit. Don't argue it. REJECT IT.

I have read the bill: https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=202120220AB2098 As far as I can see, it is concerned only with anti-vaccine activity by doctors, and not with any other aspect of fighting the pandemic such as lockdowns, so I find Dr. Bhattacharya's concerns somewhat overblown, despite his excellent warnings regarding Lysenko-like misdirection of science.

Had vaccination and N95 mask-wearing in enclosed public spaces been made compulsory for all in Q.2 of 2021 and since, together with massive assistance to poor countries, this pandemic would have been effectively squelched many months ago. Lockdowns only make sense when many people are unvaccinated, or poorly vaccinated as in China.

The lessons of the Spanish Flu of a century ago have been well studied and published, but still leaders have not applied them in their exhortations and decrees, with premature loosening of certain restrictions leading to new waves, new strains of the virus and further waves, just as in the 1918-20 period, though mutation into less deadly forms is also the likely result.

At airport right now suffocating under an air mask. Public health colleagues commenting on mask requirements are not “virus-in-air-movement” physicists but normal public health professionals like me. Difference is- Hepworth honestly says “We don’t know”. Hepworth is trying to defund/abolish my field gone awry- Public Health.

Everything written here is just as true about climate science.

Even someone as smart as Bill Maher talked about this last Friday with regards to Covid but is utterly blind to the same thing being true of climate “science”.

Because that fits his blinders and the narrative he supports.

Science is utterly broken, over 90% of peer reviewed papers are likely garbage.

But let’s spend another $20 trillion just to be sure because we got nothing but money right?
