Google sez: Prof. Claire Potter - a graduate of the ultra-left leaning Wesleyan University (probably in Gender Studies), now at the so-called New School University (oxymoron) in NYC, feeding off the taxpayer trough with absolutely no moral apprehension. A 'university' that has no sciences and probably no philosophy, just subjective regurgitated humanities claptrap. So impressive -- she covers all the identitarian bases! Wait. Only if she were transgender, then it would be a trifecta! Please do not disappoint.
Claire says: "Relevance? Is being a parent of a school-age child an identity position?" -- of course according to intersectionality, identitarianism, and Critical Race Theory. Let's face it, how can you ever opinionate about the author of this letter when you don't have the lived experience of a parent? You continue baffling me with your incoherent positions.
So you don't think affirmative action is racist? You agree that Asians should be booted from admission rolls?
All that historic virtue signalling and moral supremacism by some Leftists - and now they blatently engage in anti-liberalism and authoritarianism through CRT and cancel culture and anti-racism. At least they can do that on good faith and stop calling themselves a "liberal".
No, I do not think affirmative action is racist, and no, I do not advocate prejudice against any group. There are plenty of wonderful schools, including state schools. The kid who sued Harvard graduated from Duke. Boo-hoo.
So by affirmative action, rejecting Asians in the admissions process because of their DNA is not racist? What's next -- genocide? Jeez, you social studies types have no understanding of science or liberal moral precepts, do you?

"So by affirmative action, rejecting Asians in the admissions process because of their DNA is not racist?" Nobody has done this. Please pull yourself together.
Oh my gosh. Such defense! You said itтАЩs easy to send children to public school. Not private. Tell me about that. You are a parent of children in school now?
Professor Potter has no "lived experience" in such matters but that does not stop her from claiming expertise on such matters. How can she ever emphatize, feel, talk or opinionate on behalf of people who put their children in school? Talking about incoherency.
Teach reading, writing, arithmetic, ethics, character. Never single out people for scorn or separate them into groups because of their race.
Open, non-censored, discussion of issues is the true way, as is literacy about our Constitutional rights; Equal protection under the law, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, etc & etc.

It's far more complex than that. Critical Race Theory is a deity-less religion that has infected the mind of authoritarians on the Left who are brow-beating true liberals. You find them now in control of academia, schools, mainstream media, monopolistic corporations, cultural institutions, and government. It is like Covid-19. Can't escape it. We need a vaccine.

No, leave because you are creating more racial tension, racism, neo-racism, and reverse racism. If you care about Blacks, just leave this country that you hate and stop feasting on taxpayer monies. That is the best thing you can do for Blacks (and Asians and Jews and whites, ...)
Claire, you are obviously on board with all of this radicalism so why are you on here arguing with people who arenтАЩt. This is one of the single most damaging things happening in our society. Those who canтАЩt see that are drinking the kool-aid with visors on. We are not racist. CRT IS racist
Can you give us your definition of racism and also paste a couple comments you feel are racist so we can better understand your position? Also, your thoughts on CRT, what is its basis and how is it not a form of racism in the common use of the term? IтАЩll start the conversation by saying I believe racism is the belief that one race is inferior to another and the racists use skin color as a device to divide groups into their separate tribes irregardless of their individual accomplishments. ItтАЩs, at itтАЩs base, a group identifier.
Hi Pat: I am not paid to write this blog, Bari is. But I think your definition is a great place to start. But it is not "racist" to ask people to sign an anti-racism pledge for exactly the reasons you describe. It may be irritating, or against your principles, or any number of things. But if a person cannot say they are anti-racist, then it is legitimate to assume that they do, in fact, think some aspects of racism are justified. Also, presuming that things that are done to address and cure racism are themselves racist (because they make white people unhappy and uncomfortable) is racist.
Here are some racist comments:
"You must be on Sharpton's payroll. Grifters gonna grift."
"UK's recent report on 'race' showed that Black Africans in the UK do better than whites academically; however, Caribbean blacks not so good."
"The Black Community was in far better shape pre-1960's Civil Rights Movement."
From this person, who claims that poor people are making "choices" to be poor: "does the chronic underperformance of children from single parent homes, combined with the high rate of single parent homes in the black community, possibly affect household wealth?"
"There are plenty of groups that were similarly denied the ability to build generational wealth. Most eastern Asians, for example. What's the explanation for their success?"
These are but a few. And if you don't understand why they are racist, ask Bari who--as I said--is paid to write this newsletter. I am not.
Why don't you enlighten us as to why calling Sharpton a grifter is racist? (Didn't he recently pay himself $1 million as a bonus out of his non-profit charitable organization?) Or why pointing out the incredible success of immigrant Asians as a counter to the white supremacy narrative is somehow racist? Or how accurately reporting on the UK study is racist? If these are the best examples of the so-called "racist" comments in this section, you are reaching deep and coming up empty.
"It's part of what we libs do, ya know, when we are not crying lib tears or oppressing white people." -- You ain't no liberal. Don't sully and appropriate that word. You are a neo-Marxist/ cultural Marxist, a woke, and a far-leftist, and an anti-liberal that hates liberal democracy.
Relax, snowflake. It's a private university, and the book contract is from an international corporation. No tax dollars involved. Go have a drink or something: it's late in the day to be snooping people's web pages and lobbing insults at them. A person might think there was something wrong with you.
Claire Potter says: "Relax, snowflake. It's [New School in NYC] a private university, " -- You mean a school that milks unsuspecting women and men $70,000 a year in tuition, which the kids finance by government backed loans, only for Biden / Democratic Socialist to come along and forgive their loans by diverting hard earned taxpayer monies to these kids who graduate with degrees in Gender Studies and Postcolonial Studies, and hence become unemployable, and go on welfare rolls for more taxpayer monies? What a scam! Do you also own four properties worth $3.2 million like the head of BLM?
Clair says: "UK's recent report on 'race' showed that Black Africans in the UK do better than whites academically; however, Caribbean blacks not so good." is racist. Gosh, what kind of inferior education have you received?
"But if a person cannot say they are anti-racist, then it is legitimate to assume that they do, in fact, think some aspects of racism are justified." -- And so say the Inquisitors and the Witch Hunters. Since you have not condemned Harvard from discriminating against Asians and Jews, I must assume that you harbour racist prejudices.
Please go and reexamine your CRT/woke religion and think critically instead, to discover CRT's inherent moral corruption.
This must have been a great shock to her / him. She is used to her bubble on Twitter and among her peers. Then she comes here, receives god-forbidden push back, loses her bearings, and can't even define CRT or provide convincing examples of racism.
I suggest Clair stick to indoctrinating 18 year olds that all of America, its infrastructure, its technology, its wealth, its institutions were built by slaves, and all whites did was to barbecue in their backyard.
Yes. It must have been a great shock to her. And how scary it is for us to realize that today's children and college students are having their heads filled with nothing but woke propaganda from teachers like Claire.
ClairE says: "But it is not "racist" to ask people to sign an anti-racism pledge for exactly the reasons you describe." -- How many times do we have to correct you that the school is NOT "asking" parents to sign an ideological pledge. The school is COMPELLING parents as they would have to move out of the city to get decent schooling for their children. For someone without children and a lived experience of parenthood, you sure sound incoherent.
See what I wrote in the comment above. Claire envies the fact that Bari (and not Claire) "is paid to write this newsletter." Claire wishes she had the professional success (and the money) earned by Bari. That's the driving force behind all the criticism.
None of the comments you posted are racist. Are you suggesting that scientific research should not include data that would differentiate groups of people and their educational and economic outcomes? You think science and/or data is racist? How would you suggest any research be done if data cannot be collected and analyzed? What good would science be if it was limited to only one approved theory? If each study was forced to use the same answer no matter what the actual results proved?
You have a remarkable comfort level with both coercion and assigning societal roles, worth, and guilt based on skin color. I wholeheartedly reject any attempt to be forced to тАШsignтАЩ a document (hello, communist struggle sessions) accepting guilt based on an immutable characteristic, and I think your belief in your new apartheid is abhorrent. Shall we all present our children to government authorities within a few days of their birth for their classification, like in apartheid South Africa, Claire? CRT is a cultural dead end which devalues the individual and denies the opportunity for both redemption and individual achievement. When oneтАЩs assigned guilt or victim hood is inseparable from their physical being, there is no path forward. CRT is a toxic Marxist trap. Meanwhile, while professors teach our kids to hate each other based on their race, children in other nations are moving forward quickly with science, maths, engineering, literature, leaving ours far behind.
Thank you. If I am guilty because my ancestors arrived here after the civil war, just because IтАЩm white, then there is no possibility for redemption and every black person is forever forced to be a slave, emotionally, forever because there is no redemption for them either. ItтАЩs ridiculous and insane.
That is precisely the methodology these bullies employ. They offer no evidence, bear no burden of proof, and vilify all disagreement. They are bullies, intellectual and physical.
We seem to be on the same wavelength. Most of the comments are indeed racist. I hope Bari Weiss spends some time reading the comments so she understands who she's feeding what to. There is a bitterness throughout both the letter and the comments that renders the language unhinged. Knowledge and expertise do indeed matter!
Of course ..... as long as that knowledge and expertise agrees with what you say. If it doesnтАЩt it shouldnтАЩt be spoken. Sounds very authoritarian to me. IтАЩve seen this before ..... The Gulag Achipelago is a great example of тАЬwrong thinkтАЭ becoming a crime.
There is essentially no racism in the comments section of this newsletter... Unless you define "racism" as any deviation from PC orthodoxy... Mao, Stalin, and Hitler all knew that deviationist thought can never be tolerated. Nice friends you have.
Would you please point us to at least two racist comments and tell us what makes them racist?
Most likely, your and ClairтАЩs position amounts to the old line about how тАШif you understand, no explanation is needed, if you donтАЩt understand, no explanation is possible.тАЩ
"Most of the comments are indeed racist." -- Please go to the 'top' comments and tell us what is racist in the top five comments. Thanks. Your understanding of 'racism' is simply religious. If anyone doubts your gods (PoC for example) or blasphemes your gods, then the person is sinful (racist), destined to hell, and subject to a witch hunt and an inquisition. Got it!
Racist doesn't mean anything anymore, it's just means your conversation partner is out of arguments. We have to indeed "do the work" and learn to stop reacting to these words, just because they used to have meaning some time ago. They don't anymore. #DefundCRT
Obviously you have been ensconced in your Safe Space for too long, to understand the sociopolitical complexities.
Do you have examples of racism in these pages? And how is it that you don't find Affirmative Action racist?
And public schools in larger cities are fully infected with Critical Race Theory ideology which says the worth of a person depends on the darkness of the skin.
I find at least 3/4 of these comments racist. And actually, I spent a lot of time canvassing in New Hampshire and trying to persuade Trump supporters to vote Democrat (not a very safe space), I go to CPAC regularly (super unsafe!), and I hang out with Young Republicans (safer, because young), and found none of these people to be racist. So chew on that, snowflake.
"(not a very safe space)" she writes in parentheses.
Seriously? Are you seriously telling us you felt someone would hurt you or kill you while canvassing in New Hampshire?
Did they? Hear any stories about anyone else they did that to?
Oh, I see. It's all about how you felt. Not about not about whether people are actually assaulted there.
Try doing some canvassing in one of those peaceful neighborhoods in Chicago. Like the neighborhood where a 13 year-old called "Lil Homicide" is roaming around at 2:30 am with a gun.
There is essentially no racism in the comments section of this newsletter... Unless you define "racism" as any deviation from PC orthodoxy... Mao, Stalin, and Hitler all knew that deviationist thought can never be tolerated. Nice friends you have.
Is there any more simplistic thinking possible than imagining that getting people to vote for one party versus another is going to solve their problems for them? Pathetic. And Democrats, those in charge of virtually every American major city for decades, are responsible for the fact that those cities look and function worse than those in the third world.
It's ok, a lot of people find things racist these days, it doesn't really matter at all. The problem is, as Mr Guttman so brilliantly and courageously described, that our children are getting indoctrinated with dangerous BS. We must link arms and fight ! #DefundCRT
Please go to the 'top' comment. Take the comment and seven replies. You say six are 'racist' I have asked you multiple times to explain why they are racist, but you refuse to engage. All you do is point your finger at people here and scream "racist", because they disagree with your religion. Just like evangelical Christians and Islamists do.
So arguing with her about whether they are racist is a non-starter. The issue is, she wants people who make racist comments - according to her definition - to suffer some type of punishment or ostracization even though they have the right to make those statements under the Constitution. It's like McCathyism in that way as you lost your job if you believed in or were associated in anyway with communism, even if it didn't manifest itself in your life.
Notice how she has not replied to my comments or questions.
Claire is involved in a power grab, the terms of which were laid out by Herbert Marcuse. She never really defines what she means by racist because her goal isn't to teach but to control. She believes that this a path towards shifting power from white men to her! Earlier today on a different social media platform where I posted Guttman's letter, a friend of mine, a journalist who writes articles for the NYT and WSJ among other publications, told me that "as a white cis male I shouldn't be commenting on these things." Well hello...
Yes. It's a no holds barred power grab. And our naive little "herstory" professor thinks she can survive by playing ally. Doesn't she remember the Reign of Terror after the French Revolution as the demands from the left became increasingly extreme? Soon, she'll be forced out from her sinecure job to make way for a warm body with a higher intersectionality score. And she'll have to forfeit her last year of pay. The allies will fall. None will be left standing.
Claire, with all due respect you may not completely understand Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality. Cynical Theories by Helen Pluckrose and James Lindsay "peels the onion" and delves deeply into this. I highly recommend it. We are not racists, Critical Theory and its application is racist.
Hi Naftoli: all due respect returned--I am a college professor who has been reading critical race theory for thirty years. Asking parents to sign an anti-racism pledge, and doing diversity work, is not critical race theory, and labeling it as such is a right-wing political project. I recommend you read Derrick Bell, Regina Austin, and Kimberl├й Crenshaw to learn what this field is really about.
The Constitution is a racist document and the way to fix it is to agree that people's subjective emotional harm should take precedence over the civil liberties granted by that document.
In fact I will go as far to say that even if I agreed with the anti-Racist position, I would refuse to sign the document due to it violating my freedom of conscience. The Bill of Rights is something we live and die for. I do not see how violating it is a good idea, even if I agree with the goal.
Claire - You fail to answer why should people be forced to do anti-Racist work if they don't believe in it. Why shouldn't people be allowed to disagree with it and not suffer any consequences?
Clair says: "Asking parents to sign an anti-racism pledge, and doing diversity work, is not critical race theory, and labeling it as such is a right-wing political project." -- Do you mean that when the school forces parents to sign a pledge to the ideology, and when the school engages in reverse racism ('Diversity'), these are not from Critical Race Theory, but is a conspiracy by Rightists? Now you got me baffled!
That's Claire with an E, Ehsan. In any case, I am glad I have you baffled. Now, go read something that you don't already agree with and get back to me. Indeed, the whole "critical race theory" thing is not only entirely phony, but unless those parents are being forced to send their children to an expensive private school, they can go be racist somewhere else! If a person cannot say they are anti-racist, they have some soul searching to do.
The way you and others throw the word racism around at anyone who doesnтАЩt agree with you is a strategy that no longer holds water. People have abused the term and it has lost its impact because itтАЩs abused by people with an agenda
ClairE Potter says: "If a person cannot say they are anti-racist, they have some soul searching to do." -- Just like in my country - "If you are not a Muslim, then you are morally corrupt and an infidel (and you should be sent to hell)." or "How can anyone disagree with the superior logic of Islam?"
You sure sound like a fundie, and I am an expert on this matter. And what is an "anti-racist", except as a rhetorical sledgehammer to smash the proverbial skull?
I will write your name as I please. You have no power over me. If there is anyone here that will have to submit, it will be you, dear ClairE. Now run to your safe space and play in the sand box. After all, safe spaces were invented by emo leftists, so stop trying to disown them and blame others. (I bet you will retort that what I just said is somehow racist!)
Ahhh -- trying to make this exchange personal? You know two can play that game. I have asked you several times to describe:
1) Critical Race Theory
2) Examples of racism in the top comment and replies.
You claim to be an expert in such matters but refuse to answer. I will put that to bad faith, or worse just like emotionally driven and uneducated leftists, you have no answer. All you have been complaining about is that commenters here do not subscribe to your ersatz anti-enlightenment and illiberal religion and are infidels.
"Professor" of what? Cultural anthropology? Gender Studies? Grievance Studies? English literature?
We are still waiting for examples of racism on these pages from you.
"Right wing" -- more scare tactics from our dear professor!
We have read these authors and have come to the conclusion that CRT advocates rights based on the darkness of the skin. Maybe you can explain your understanding of CRT instead of accusing everyone here of racism?
Ehsan - It is a waste of time arguing with Claire as she will never completely explain her position. That's because CRT is not really a way of governing or thinking. It is solely used to criticize liberalism in an attempt to shift power. In almost every example I have seen where college professors write a demand letter to a university, they always suggest that they become the Politburo to decide how things should run in the future. It's a shame because there is value in CRT as a way to identify things where liberalism is not working correctly. But that's now what Claire is after. She wants to be in charge, rather than Elon Musk.
Exactly Steve. You will now find that she has disappeared from the debate because I have asked her a couple of simple things which is beyond her expertise. How many woke leftists are there that can engage in a debate in good faith and not go off a diversion or completely vanish in due course. Almost none.
You can see in BLM and Antifa demonstrations when someone tries to engage a protester or rioter, they clam up and refuse to answer. This reaction is common to religious and ideological people, as they can't defend their creed with logic.
You mean Historicism and historical revisionism by any chance? I shudder to imagine what your classes look like.
Well I am happy to be chatting with an 'expert' on Critical Race Theory, who is going to disabuse me of my plebeian knowledge of CRT. Please explain this ideology to me. As an expert, you must have read James Lindsay and other critics. Right?
Nobody forces you to send your child to private school--you don't like it, send your kid to public school.
Claire, you have no idea what Mr. Gutmann was talking about. You are living in a bubble created by narratives.
I'm new to this forum.
I selected to see the posts Top First.
Why is Claire Potter's post at the top? She got 7 hearts. Other OP's got plenty more.

What am I missing?
Have you noticed how ClairE gets exactly one thumbs up on most her comments? Either she is thumbing herself or her sockpuppet does that.
Where it will be just as bad. Hurah.
There are probably more options than a failing public school system or indoctrination. I commend Mr. GutmannтАЩs bravery in explaining why he has made this choice. Bravo.

Tell me how easy it is?
Public, not private school.
This is a family struggle at this very moment.
Well, 50.8 million students in the United States go to public school: how hard can it be to enroll in one?
How does it feel to know no one likes you?
As an expert, are you ever going to explain Critical Race Theory to us plebeians?
And how about telling how a random comment or two is racist on this board?
Can you back up any of these claims?
ThatтАЩs what I thought.
No school age children , living in New York City...
in your household.
Hello Claire. Are you children of school age?
..... Are * your children ...
Relevance? Is being a parent of a school-age child an identity position?
Well you seem to be an expert on something you know nothing about
Claire says: "Relevance? Is being a parent of a school-age child an identity position?" -- of course according to intersectionality, identitarianism, and Critical Race Theory. Let's face it, how can you ever opinionate about the author of this letter when you don't have the lived experience of a parent? You continue baffling me with your incoherent positions.
I think you might want to look at your own posts for coherence, snowflake.
I think you may want to take a nap
Again talking in tongues. Typical of woke leftists in deep water.
So you admit that you have been incoherent, as I have pointed out. Now tell me where have I been incoherent. Shall be waiting.
Mean while please explain CRT to us plebeians here. Thanks.
"snowflake" projection! Surely I have triggered. Now go run to the sand box.
So you don't think affirmative action is racist? You agree that Asians should be booted from admission rolls?

Well if you believe in diversity what about the New York Knicks . Should we have more whites there
FYI, the suit against Harvard was more of a class action.
So by affirmative action, rejecting Asians in the admissions process because of their DNA is not racist? What's next -- genocide? Jeez, you social studies types have no understanding of science or liberal moral precepts, do you?
So now we have you on record that affirmative action is not racist. With 'anti-racists' like you, we have nothing to fear!

time to get out more

If these are the best examples of the so-called "racist" comments in this section, you are reaching deep and coming up empty.
If your opinions are so learned and valuable then why are you on leave for spring 2021 at your тАЬcollegeтАЭ ???
Research: I have a book contract, Frosty. It's part of what we libs do, ya know, when we are not crying lib tears or oppressing white people.
Clearly you have zero self-awareness.
In other words, youтАЩre collecting taxpayer money for what you should be doing in your spare time.
Relax, snowflake. It's a private university, and the book contract is from an international corporation. No tax dollars involved. Go have a drink or something: it's late in the day to be snooping people's web pages and lobbing insults at them. A person might think there was something wrong with you.
You know these children you are indoctrinating are going to be the ones that put a bullet in the back of your head, right?
A person definitely thinks thereтАЩs something wrong with you
She's writing her novel about a failed college professor who goes on substack to trash the reputation of a successful public intellectual.
You have not given the requested definition.
She can't. CRT is essentially neo-Marxist rhetoric amalgamated with reactionary postmodernism.
YouтАЩre the classic definition of a troll. IтАЩm sure you majored in gender studies
Claire is a classic. But just think of how her zany under the bridge presence this afternoon has really spiced up the fun and games.
EXACTLY
That is precisely the methodology these bullies employ. They offer no evidence, bear no burden of proof, and vilify all disagreement. They are bullies, intellectual and physical.

You really need to get out more.
Claire,
We seem to be on the same wavelength. Most of the comments are indeed racist. I hope Bari Weiss spends some time reading the comments so she understands who she's feeding what to. There is a bitterness throughout both the letter and the comments that renders the language unhinged. Knowledge and expertise do indeed matter!
Best,
David
Of course ..... as long as that knowledge and expertise agrees with what you say. If it doesnтАЩt it shouldnтАЩt be spoken. Sounds very authoritarian to me. IтАЩve seen this before ..... The Gulag Achipelago is a great example of тАЬwrong thinkтАЭ becoming a crime.
There is essentially no racism in the comments section of this newsletter... Unless you define "racism" as any deviation from PC orthodoxy... Mao, Stalin, and Hitler all knew that deviationist thought can never be tolerated. Nice friends you have.
You know what would be really keen ?? give your unfairly earned wealth to a person of color. That would be a really good thing
ЁЯСНЁЯП╝Yes! A тАШredistribution cleanseтАЩ does wonders for a woke soul
That comment wasn't racist at all (not).
YouтАЩre comment just now was racist. The new school has to retrain their faculty about anti-racism

#DefundCRT
Thanks, David--I hope she does too.
Are your children of school age?
Let us know how that turns out.
There is essentially no racism in the comments section of this newsletter... Unless you define "racism" as any deviation from PC orthodoxy... Mao, Stalin, and Hitler all knew that deviationist thought can never be tolerated. Nice friends you have.
Chew on that snowflake. Who says that
15 year olds arguing on instagram.
Or, apparently, college history professors
Is there any more simplistic thinking possible than imagining that getting people to vote for one party versus another is going to solve their problems for them? Pathetic. And Democrats, those in charge of virtually every American major city for decades, are responsible for the fact that those cities look and function worse than those in the third world.
It's ok, a lot of people find things racist these days, it doesn't really matter at all. The problem is, as Mr Guttman so brilliantly and courageously described, that our children are getting indoctrinated with dangerous BS. We must link arms and fight ! #DefundCRT
somebody needs a time-out :)
Claire is worse than McCarthyism. Claire ranks right up there with Chairman Mao and the Red Guard.
More likely, this naive history professor will be the informer who sends people to the Gulag, in order to save her own skin.
And, like clockwork, the inevitable accusation of racism. Note to all Americans: disagreement with Claire will not be tolerated.
YouтАЩre no college professor. YouтАЩre a hack at a taxpayer funded night school for rejects
Ha. The new school. ThatтАЩs barely more than a high school
Still no definition of anti-racism? We respectfully await one.
Here is a reductive definition in a nutshell.
The Constitution is a racist document and the way to fix it is to agree that people's subjective emotional harm should take precedence over the civil liberties granted by that document.
YouтАЩve been nurturing this race-based hatred for 30 years, Claire? How profoundly sad for you.
How about give us the summarized version. In your own words please- not copy-and-paste from someone else.
You mean like when employees had to sign loyalty pledges to America in the McCarthy era?
History. And you are simply wrong about what critical race theory is --there is no other way to say it. Expertise matters: you don't have it.
IтАЩm sorry that you have nothing better to do than comment. Clearly no one wants to go out with you
Again, please provide us with a definition of тАЬcritical race theory.тАЭ
You mean Historicism and historical revisionism by any chance? I shudder to imagine what your classes look like.
Well I am happy to be chatting with an 'expert' on Critical Race Theory, who is going to disabuse me of my plebeian knowledge of CRT. Please explain this ideology to me. As an expert, you must have read James Lindsay and other critics. Right?
