If Guttmen is the only one, then it doesn't matter. That's his plea - everyone must take a vocal stand. Everyone must do what they can to make it known this sort of activity is not cool. Guttman is talking to us all.

Being on the sidelines is no longer an option on this issue. My politics generally are "respect our rights and leave me alone" Well, time to amend things a bit.

In the scheme of things, it matters even if he is the only one, maybe even especially if he is the only one. Because that took the courage everyone needs to fight this thing.

From the perspective of talking truth to power, yes, he's among a monitory of voices right now. That's the problem. The silent masses, those that go about their lives because these issues haven't punched them in the face...yet, are the ones that need a good hard shake. Collectively we need to wake up and push back, just like Guttman - we must all show courage in the face of the Twitter mob.

And politicians that say America is systemically racist are also saying America is evil. And if this nation is fundamentally evil, then itтАЩs not worthy of protection from adversaries. Why donтАЩt politicians see the trap that is being set when they just mouth slogans that make them seem virtuous?
