The teachers, and teachers unions exposed themselves during this pandemic: Essential workers kept on working and teachers stayed home. What more do we need to know?
We all know, and Randi Weingarten herself admitted it, that keeping kids out of school was entirely political. If Donald Trump and Betsy DeVos had gone on television and said "No way children can be in public school at this time, we must keep kids and teachers out of school at all costs," kids would have been in school by the end of the week.
Weingarten admitted that before Trump and DeVos went on tv and "made it political"- that is a president and his head of education said children should continue their education during COVID, it's important- teachers were ready to go back to school.
Teachers unions are more concerned with changing the names of schools and condemning the world's only Jewish state than they are about outcomes for Black students in California. If I was a teachers union, I'd want to change the subject to literally anything else, too.
