I couldn't love this more if I tried. Thank you so much Ms. Maron for writing this piece. I was literally cheering as I read it.

Much of my career has been devoted to studying and publishing about terrorism so I know a bit about this topic. What is striking when I observe the past week's actions by the Biden Administration and AG Garland is that it's a well-known and well-used tactic that many regimes have utilized to silence political opponents. Don't like what your opponent has to say? Label them a terrorist and suddenly they can be legally and easily silenced, if not removed, from the political landscape. This tactic has no place in American politics and Biden should be ashamed.
The fact that Biden and AG Garland decided to utilize this tactic is perhaps the most important and dangerous sign that we've moved into a new place in our domestic discourse. It cannot be allowed to stand. Regardless of one's political persuasion, every parent, every voter, and every taxpayer needs to send an explicit and immediate message to the White House, their representatives, and their op-ed pages that this is a step too far and will not be tolerated.
Notwithstanding the subsequent disclosure of AG Garland's conflict-of-interest given his son-in-law's livelihood relies upon CRT training in schools and districts, and the hints (still to be verified) that this "letter" and process had roots in September White House meetings, the precedent being established by the Biden Administration and AG Garland to target parents as political opponents for engaging in constitutionally protected speech is chilling. Certainly we saw the effects in an earlier era and with a man named Joe McCarthy what the price is when swathes of political opponents can be painted with broad strokes as "enemies of the people."
Ultimately, one has to consider why the Biden Administration, AG Garland, educational administrators, and school boards (not to mention a certain VA gubernatorial candidate) are so very concerned about parents scrutinizing what they're doing in the classroom to their children. What do they have to hide?

You're not the only one hinting at this "stuff," M. Cunningham:
Also to uncover, who is pulling the strings of Biden and Garland, who seem to be trojan horses, nice guy Kerenskys to backround Bolsheviks who see people as sheep to be culled and herded, sacrificial lambs to their ideology

That was a brilliant comment. Thank you.
