I have been imagining schools like this for decades. Imagine going from middle school through college at a school that makes kids work their way through. It may be tough, but the students that make it through would be some of the most employable people.
It sounds a lot like being homeschooled while living on a ranch. I agree that the benefits of this would probably be even greater for young people in their tweens or teenaged years.
And better humans. Something about hard work seems to force one into pulling oneself up regardless of how you “feel”, and put responsibility and community at the forefront. I don’t get the wishy washy, limp and shallow mentality I see in so many young ppl today. Talk about thin-skinned
