Recent statues going up to honor thugs and drug dealers just goes to show how sick and corrupt the black community is today. Who honors criminals ? George Floyd was a thug, drug dealer and ne'er do well who distinguished himself by pressing a gun to a pregnant woman's belly. Breonna Taylor who was shot by the cops turned out to be a ring leader in a drug gang. Poor John Lewis, the civil rights leader whose statue went up with these two criminals - and he actually did something positive.
Cc, I agree with you that Taylor and Floyd were complex individuals (in the case of Floyd, with a criminal record) just as I echo PennyтАЩs assertion that they absolutely did not deserve be killed in such brutal way. I will also add my two cents about what you said regarding the black community. The enemy here, at least for me, is the ideology that feeds wokeness. I think perhaps the best way to challenge this ideology is promote the enlightened liberal values that it aims to critique (e.g., individualism, color blindness). Hasty generalizations based on immutable characteristics, to me, are not entirely in line with enlightened liberal ideals. Distilling the individual into an monolith, or promoting the notion that all members of any community share particular traits or abide to certain beliefs, is exactly the type of narrative the woke ideology likes to promote.
If you didn't know George Floyd had been in and out of jail/prison about 9 times, had 3X the lethal dose of fentanyl in his system at the time of his death (it is interesting the AMA changed the lethal dose of fentanyl immediately AFTER his death to "it depends"), had a 1st degree assault of a pregnant woman using a gun against her belly (he posed a as a delivery person and served 5 years for that) ---- Then you really aren't interested in truth or anything that happened on the day of his death.
Read up on Breonna Taylor and you will find she was not an angel the media attempted to make her out to be and it looks like her then boyfriend used her as a human shield.
NOTE: While a No-Knock warrant was available, the officers DID announce themselves and only returned fire AFTER one of the officers had been shot.
Again, if you didn't know about any of this, you really aren't interested in truth, just ideology.
I would advise you to do your own research. Seems like you read only the MSM. And we agree that no one should be killed- but thugs should also not be given statues. ItтАЩs an example of a тАШmoral sicknessтАЩ in the black community.
CC is correct, but did you miss the point of the drug dealer who was with BTaylor. You are correct in that these points, BTaylor was with a drug dealer and Floyd was a criminal, were hardly covered.
Did you see the Very little coverage of Floyd before the "Kneel Season"?
Did you see:..
Where Floyd resisted arrest and cried "i can't breathe"? While the police tried without success to put him into the police car.
Do you think this delay was to sway the jury? thanks
The difference is that CC claims that Breonna Taylor herself was a drug dealer, and that claim has to be substantiated, since it is contrary to all published information. The rest is common knowledge, though the police have no right to kill unarmed ne'er-do-wells who are not threatening anybody. Even apparently armed thugs can be stopped without resorting to lethal violence, as demonstrated by the arrest of the "incel" mass murderer in Toronto.
Stefan... BT was not a dealer, correct but the details have the drug dealers shooting first, might be wrong, but that is what i have. They have guns and shooting, that was the game, so when you get into that game...
She might not have been the person on the corner selling but BT was entrenched in the drug trade and culture. She helped launder money, allowed her address to be used as a drop house and most of the people she hung out with were known drug dealers.
Read up on the investigations into Jamarcus Glover, Curtis Palm and Kenneth Walker.
The murder of Fernandez Bowman (a drug dealer murdered in a car she rented) is another thing never covered in the media.

I'll help you out - google 'George Floyd's rap sheet' - you'll be reading for days.
Quite right
