Apple Pay, Visa and Mastercard are all susceptible to in exactly the same fashion as PayPal. They can choose who gets access to their networks and credit systems. And a checkbook is nice (who says your bank can't simply close your accounts too?) but in a capitalist society like ours, removal of access to credit is effectively a death sentence with generational impacts.
Anyway, I"m not so sure there are any safe-havens for one's money these days.
Why Venmo? I was hoping that would still be an option.

Cash is still king, although the Brandon admin is trying desperately to cancel the dollar and give us digital money, donтАЩt fall for it resist!
I use Zelle quite often.

I wrote a good old fashioned paper check the other day.
My husband is strictly checks for bill pay, cash or credit cards. No online accounts at all. Has his credit locked down.
