The article (in its entirety) by Yeonmi is perhaps the best thing ever published by TFP. Perspective is the first word that jumped to.mind as I was reading. The second was freedom. The third was democracy ( and how freedom is the essence of democracy while those who shout about democracy being threatened are doing all they can to limit freedom of those who dare not bend a knee and submit to their world view). Lastly, i loved the marbles question. Imagine that one being asked at a political election debate! Happy weekend to all who are privileged to live in this great country.
This woman escaped a real, brutal police state. Guess where she chose to live and become a citizen? Here in the US, which shocked me. If you listen to the Dem/Soc we are a brutal, racist police state so you can imagine my confusion when this young woman moved from one police state to another, the US.
Also thousands of people make the perilous journey to sneak into this brutal police state, the US. It is a puzzlement to me. Maybe someone on the loony left can explain it to me.
Many actually believe the drivel. Others realize how to manipulate the millions of useful idiots who are infected with "oikophobia," a phobia i recently read about that essentialy means hatred of one's nation. A recent book by Benedict Beckeld addresses this and related subjects including historical analysis.
