I live in the deep South; a day does not go by that one of my friends doesn’t say that we are headed for a new Civil War – ahem, excuse me….War of Yankee Aggression – and I assure them that it will never end up there. As of the last few days I’ve stopped telling them that.

This time it does not involve weapons as the horrendous ones are all in the hands of one side, it is already happening and the war of ideas is now almost entirely in the hands of that side as well. When the IRS comes knocking on your door (Taibbi) because you are unearthing damaging evidence you know the war is on.

Yes the war IS on, and the Side Of Good is just discovering that. The Side Of Evil has known a long time. I'm in - somebody take the damn lead and tell me how to help.

Regarding civil war. After watching Rogan and Shellenbeger a civil war over the First Amendment seems chillingly possible. It is hard to imagine Democrats defunding the Censorship Industrial Complex. And it is hard to imagine Republicans trusting elections if is not defunded. Thats a pickle.

Worse. It is hard to trust Republicans to do it. Too many are complicit.

Ill expect status quo Republicans to fold like lawn chairs if the picnic is big enough.

At some point the lunacy becomes intolerable.

I'm old enough to remember when Democrats could actually be friends and even lovers.

Those days are gone. Things such as mutilation of children, gender fluidity, opening our borders, reparations for people who were never slaves, demonization of white people, etc. are not acceptable. Nor is comity with people who believe in such patent madness.

Yes. Yes. Yes. As a very tolerant people that believes in fairness, Americans have let this stuff go and go and go. But it's like my mother - hell, everybody's mother - said, give an inch and they'll take a mile. My tolerance goes very, very deep; I've always taken the libertarian point of view: if I don't pay your bills I won't try to call your shots - but now they are not just acting up and acting out; they are angry and in my face. Finally I see the ultimate goal of their puppet masters, and my tolerance is wearing thin, let me tell you. Goddamn thin.

And you are paying their bills. One way or another.
