There is a story Newt Gingrich tells about the time JPII went to Poland. Signs kept popping up that simply said 2+2=4. The Government Knew it was Subversive, But Simple Truth of it made it impossible to suppress.
Right when the Ukraine invasion started there were Russian protestors. They started out with signs, but were quickly arrested and disappeared. So then they started showing up with these blank signs and holding them up. My wife kept sending me pictures of them she was seeing on Twitter. The Russians all knew what the signs would have said. And THEY started getting arrested. There was one video clip of a middle aged woman holding up a blank white piece of cardboard who had three cops manhandling her away while she was objecting in Russian.
Blank signs. Clever. My take away from this thread is the 2 +2 = 4. Message reality still exists. I will be making a sign and putting it in my car window. And taking it out when I am not in the car.
I believe that the end of Soviet communism was hastened by the utter contempt and disdain its subjects had for it and the ridicule the people had for the sclerotic leadership. Sort of like Biden's cabal today.
Love running into a new word. I had to look up sclerotic. Next step is to hear it spoken aloud in a year and realize IтАЩve been pronouncing it incorrectly
