Thanks for the opening synopsis. It allowed me to skip to the comment section without having to scan all that crap.

Hey Suzy, instead of being so enthralled with the Netflix documentary, Glitter and Gold, you should have watched Miracle: The Boys of 80’s. It’s tells the story of an Olympic event that literally changed the conscience of a nation and possibly the world. A group of kids from working class families in the US beat ,what was considered at the time the greatest Olympic hockey ever, the Russian team, in a MIRACLE upset. She should have watched that. Oh yes maybe our current group of β€œprotesters” in Minneapolis should have watched it also…maybe instead of yelling at our ICE officers….NAZIS, GESTAPOS, they should be chanting USA,USA.

Amen! I'm not even a hockey fan but I watched that game. The USA chant remains popular today with Americans, not these whistle blowing white saviors doing their bit for pay in our cities.

Backtracking a bit on a previous video/podcast last week on TFP. The episode with Nelly Bowles and Suzy Weiss, was terrific, but the format needed to be tightened. It would still feel relaxed and loose in tone, but the specific subjects need to be tighter. The whole length could’ve come down by almost 5-10 minutes and could have been even stronger if it were set up as β€œwe’re gonna talk about this for 3 or 4 minutes” then we’re moving on, as much as I appreciated both Nelly and Suzi and guests. In fact, I see a real future for this combo of news and culture podcast . I’m a big fan of β€œthe Free Press,” and a long-winded writer.

I have watched NFL championship games since the 1967 Ice Bowl of Green Bay and Dallas, when I was nine. I remember it because we lived a few blocks from Green Bay's quarterback Bart Starr's parents' house in Alabama and all the kids in that neighborhood knew who he was. Of course, my Dad was a big Green Bay fan because of that, so he went nuts when Green Bay won it on the last play. The next one I remember was the 1985 season one between the Chicago Bears and the New England Patriots, because I was living in Chicago, and the whole town went crazy when the perennial losing Bears won it. I remember another one in the 90s between New England and Green Bay I saw on TV in edited format overseas. Next one I remember after that was between St. Louis and Tennessee in 1999 because I was living in St. Louis.

I remember almost every minute of those games from decades ago, but until last week I had never heard of "Bad Bunny." I suppose I am not keeping up with the times.

Bad Bunny sounds like spoiled rabbit stew.
