One of the most worrisome things about this story is that it is not at all surprising. It is what one would have expected. The savages are feeling they can get away with almost anything, and progressive governments seem to be proving them right. The first and obvious suggestion is for people to arm themselves, train with the weapons they buy, and be prepared to act in self defense. The problem is that in places run by leftists, authorities tend to side with the leftist hoodlums, and people who defend themselves run the risk of serious trouble with the law. An action that would be treated as reasonable self defense in Texas (Austin perhaps aside) might land a person from an unprotected group in the slammer in New York, Los Angeles, or other places run by leftists. This is a particular difficulty for Jews because a high percentage of American Jews live in cities and states run by leftists. Jews (and for that matter whoever the next targets are) living in those places have my sympathy and best wishes. People could relocate to places where people are free to defend themselves, but not everyone can or would want to do that. It is tough.
