I will now reiterate my comment from during COVID that, when I am old, I will not accept medical care from anyone who doesn’t have a thick foreign accent.

If I think you went to medical school in the US you can’t prescribe me aspirin. The ‘pediatrics’ people think kids can wear ball gags to school and it won’t affect their speech and the ‘public health’ people think the spirit of George Floyd stops the spread of viruses. Oh and they also don’t really know what penises and vaginas are anymore.

Good job, Democrats.

DEI is destroying everything it touches - that must be the intention; there is No chance that’s just a side effect. Divisive, corrosive and by its nature, forces every environment to accept lower quality everything.

Doctors, pilots, lawyers, judges, medical researchers, brain surgeons, teachers, truck drivers, police…. Our lives are literally in the hands of other people all the time.

When they’re there because somebody needed a person to fill their left-handed, green haired, blind, gender dysphoric “person living with obesity”token then we are screwed.

Any and all things DEI is fully on the shoulders of liberals/Democrats. Sadly, you will keep voting in the same types that will allow it to continue. It is too late to stop the crazy, from what I see. Speaking out against it just gets you smeared; daring to call it out will get you labeled an uneducated, backward redneck.

I don't think it will really sink in until the liberal white moms that cheered on BLM see their kids passed over in the workforce for no other reason than having the wrong skin color... or the wrong gender. And it will happen.

“The university also implemented a new “pipeline program,” allowing ten students a year from HBCUs (historically black colleges or universities) to attend its med school after maintaining a 3.6 GPA but no other academic requirement, including not taking the MCAT”

Well the good news is that, while these applicants aren’t qualified, they will mainly be doing bottom surgery for trans people which you really can’t screw up since it is just straight-up butchery in the first place.

I strongly encourage everyone to take the time to check the background of any new doctor or medical practice before actually making an appointment (seems obvious, I know). If I see anyone in a Dr's office even going by their "pronouns" I'll take two aspirin and call somebody else.

DEI, social justice & big pharma influence in our medical schools will most likely be the downfall of the US leading the world in overall healthcare treatment & medical innovation.

Bari, thank you for both of these articles by two DOCTORS. I have read many articles by Drs. Goldfarb and Satel and I am always eager to read all that they write. Medicine affects all of us and often directly and immediately, as opposed to more cosmic concerns and theories ( take your pick; global warming comes to mind). As a consequence, we cannot afford to just ignore what is going on in our medical schools or our doctor offices and hospitals or the fact that medical matters ( and science in general ) has become the battle ground for politics and ideology. There is no substitute for REAL SCIENCE .

I work for an elite medical school. And I am TERRIFIED by what's known as "holistic admissions" wherein future doctors don't have to have good grades or test scores to be admitted to medical school. Our medical school student body is now comprised of 50% "under-represented students" because our Dean insists you "don't need good MCAT scores to take care of Grandma." Um, actually, you DO need to be super smart to be a great doctor. We should all be very afraid of what will happen to us once these doctors hit the streets....

DEI is upending EVERY industry.

Both stories are revealing and compelling. It truly makes one not want to fall into the clutches of big medicine or pharma. As for Harry, I really have no more shits to give.

“First, they sound good. I am impressed by their sincerity and empathy”

——————————————————-

If someone’s empathy is readily apparent they are most likely a psychopath making an effort to display empathy. Just FYI.

This is a critical topic to bring to light, and we will suffer the damage of these programs in the years to come if we don't fight against them now. A friend recently remarked to me that in the future if she has to choose a physician that graduated post-2018, she would seek out white males because she could be sure they achieved their position through merit and rigor, and thus provide the best quality of care. This is a cynical view with some truth to it and, I thought, underscored one of the many ways that race essentialism in every corner of our world today will only breed more separation, distrust, and - yes - racism.

It might not be tomorrow, but if the pendulum doesn’t swing back toward the middle quickly, we are in for some dark days. Not fear mongering, trying to have some intellectual honesty - I think the facts/results speak for themselves (until they are erased and re-written). Thankful for this organization and others who challenge us by reporting painful truths.

DIE initiatives are simply Lynsincoism applied to various disciplines. It leaves a trail of death and suffering in its wake just like it acronym implies.

I draw great comfort from stories like this. I used to think my bad behavior was just because I was a dick. Now I'm sure there's a medical explanation. All I need is to find me some lady doctor with a penis to proclaim that I am traumatized by PTSADDLGB. Where do I pick up my check?

Why am I seeing a larger pattern? This is very worrisome, but at least I think publications like The Free Press and others are seeing it and calling it out. Thank you.
