Of course she is being used, that is what world governments do: use people, namely women for political gain. Here and in Russia and everywhere. Hell, 40% of the women crossing our southern non-border are raped/trafficked and the US government doesn't give a shit. Same with Griner.

You are going to laugh or yawn.... If Donald Trump were still in office none of this would be happening because a) he actually did use our energy exportation to affect Russia and Iran, and b) He actually cares about women. Biden uses them as a tool and in this case he doesn't care at all or she would already be home. It isn't hard to negotiate when you are in a position of strength, unfortunately Biden has squandered every strength we have earned.

So, #28, if I were to take your analogy a few steps further,

If Trump were still in office none of this would be happening because:

c) Trump would have already signalled to Putin that he had no intention of continuing to arm Ukraine, or bolster NATO defences

d) Trump would have signalled that he would not support NATO expansion to Finland or Sweden

e) When Griner was first being held, Russian forces would have already entered Kyiv, helped by Trump's non-intervention, so what would have been the point of detaining her?

No, sir. Trump unleashed our energy development which lowered the price of oil which hurt Russia most. Yes, fracking was already putting pressure on NatGas pricing, but unleashing American oil production kept Putin in check. Same with Iran. Devastating to both economies. In addition, Trump's controlled unpredictability played a part.

'No sir'?

To what exactly? My three assumptions viv a vis Trump on NATO, Putin, and Ukraine? Or your presumption that I disagree with your proposition that Trump used energy exportation effectively against Russia and Iran? I never signalled to you I disagreed with that. I think that you are correct, actually.

All I did was add three possible reasons why our WNBA star would be a free woman enjoying her pot if Trump were still in power.

I am such a dumbass; I read your post at work very quickly and obviously didn't read well.

I agree on all of your points. Again, apologies.

No worries! No apology needed.

This is a space for dialogue and the respect good examples of that engenders. We have had give and take before, very agreeably. Let’s keep that up. Enjoy the rest of your day..

It is great to have discussions with people here rather than pick a side and throw grenades as that is what 'they' want: us divided. Rock on, pal.

Not laughing or yawning rather nodding my head vigorously in agreement with you. Last year Brandon went to meet Putin, he gave Putin a list of 16 companies he can’t touch or hack. Who does that? If it was President Trump he would have told Putin “you touch America and I will knock your face off your shoulders” Brandon and his cahoots are the wrong leadership for this great country we will be back I can just feel it!🇺🇸🇺🇸

Totally agree! Yep, Trump's controlled unpredictability kept everyone's heads down.

It’s more than 40% are raped. It’s more like 80%. Including toddlers. But that’s who we are inviting to control the border - the cartels, because sure as shit joey depends ain’t doing it.

We wouldn't be arguing about nonsense, but watching Ms. Griner play again if Trump's Sec of State was involved in the negotiations.
