Gender ideology will continue to capture large swaths of overly-educated, under-thinking Progressives because they live in an alternate information ecosystem. The NYT's reporting on the closure of Tavistock serves as a case in point. The sub-headline of the article implies that the clinic was closed due to, "long wait times and inadequate services," and the article uses the phrase, "sex assigned at birth," while parroting the false premise that hormone blockers are " largely reversible." It also barely scratches the surface of the *mounting evidence* that it's not merely a dearth of information about the long-term effects of puberty blockers that is raising the alarm among the medical establishment in Europe - it's studies shows how harmful these medical interventions are for young people!

When publicity in conservative media intensified about Tavistock closing, the coverage was accompanied by statements implying the UK was shutting down its GAC centers. On one occasion I read about some NHS official stating that was not correct, that they were developing more centers so that care would be "more accessible." I was surprised when both the conservative media and the "trans activists" continued to make so much ado about the closing of Tavistock. I am not at all clear about what the NHS is doing with its approach to "gender medicine" and psychology. The most optimistic interpretation is that they are trying to back out of GAC by gradually withdrawing support until their gender service just goes away. It would be much better for the UK taxpayers if it did, and better for the budget of the NHS, so maybe that will go down. Here in the U.S., gender clinics make a lot of money, and will therefore be likely to be slow to die. The hope here is that lawyers see some opportunities to make money via big personal injury claims by desisters and detransitioners, so that supports a bit of optimism.

"Sex assigned at birth," LOL. It's like the nurses in the birthing room are going, "eenie meenie miney mo, let's pick a sex." Such idiocy.

A friend of mine recently joked that a doctor friend of his showed him the coin she used to use to assign sex at birth. The punchline was that she didn’t need it anymore because she was now using a 20-sided die.

In the old Soviet Union, most people mocked and laughed at the lies peddled by Pravda. In America, liberals and progressives lap up the lies peddled by the Times like dogs lap up vomit. These chattering fools are truly beneath our contempt.
