I thought the article by Hari Raghavan about why he and his wife were leaving the Bay area was just brilliant. At least until the end when he said they would be a blue dot in red Florida. He should reread what he wrote and ask himself why most of the cities resembling the Bay area in steadily deteriorating quality of life are filled with blue dots.

It was "meh" to me. Here he is moving to Florida, and then takes a swipe at Florida's politics. Felt like a forced virtue signal. Like the folks who are sure to include a "to be sure, Trump (or whatever) is so much worse" statement when they otherwise criticize the narrative. He could stay in California and just move away from SF to get out of the crime and poop. But, he wants to get out of the taxes. I don't blame him. That's why we finally left (and I otherwise liked living there).

Speaking of Miami, the Bee has another gem today:

As a 40 year resident of LA, with lots of family in Bay Area, I can tell you people are leaving these areas in a steady stream. For Tx (esp. Houston area), Arizona, NC, FL. Even Tennessee now! Anywhere but here.
