Researched your story, "The teacher said: “Jews ruined Christmas. That teacher was librarian Kimberlynn Jurkowski". I expected a closet member of the "Alt Right" ?. Wrong. Turns out to be another Nation of Islam Farakhan gal pal. I would bet that data point gets no coverage at the antiracism desk at the NYT .

"Jews ruined Christmas." Good god. Think her tattoos are swastikas, or a more tasteful pair of SS lightning bolts?

I trust her ass is long fired?

This was Black Power Anti-Semitism, not White Power Anti-Semitism. Less Nazi Party and more Nation of Islam.

I know, but Nazis had more recognizable tattoos, so I went that route. "Louis's bow tie" would be lost on so many readers . . .

But that's the problem. By doing so you played into Brandon's false narrative about an army of White Nationalists waiting to don sheets. The anti-Semitism of the left, by being "acceptable" as a faux liberation theology, is far more dangerous and likely to take root. The lunatics assaulting restaurant patrons asking "where are the Jews?" carried Palestinian flags.

How many people would have gotten my point if I had written, "Think her tattoos are shaped like Louis's bowties?" You would have gotten it. A few others. It would have gone completely over everyone else's head. My point was her Jew-bashing, not which side it came from, so I chose Nazi symbolism.

Agree completely that the Jew-hating "Palestinian liberation movement" of the Woke is a far bigger danger than anything from the right. At least for the time being. We can see the goobers carrying swastika flags and call them out. Much harder to spot a Woke professor claiming, "I'm not antisemitic. I love Jews, I just hate the Israeli government."

From the article cited, "D.C. Public Schools did not respond to multiple requests for comment, including about whether it was familiar with Jurkowski’s criminal record prior to hiring her."

I bet not, that failure being demonstrable gross incompetence that should result in heads rolling.

Agree, NYT only reports “right wing” anti Semitism. That’s one reason Bari, after writing her excellent book “How to Fight Anti Semitism, resigned from the NYT. All of my liberal American Jewish friends only see anti Semitism on right as well. It’s a sickness for sure.

Unfortunate blind spot among your friends, Brian. As an American both liberal and Jewish, I clearly see antisemitic pestilence glowing like nuclear fuel rods from both ends of the spectrum. It's appalling, and normal Americans need to crush Jew-hating like the morality-killer it is.

And what do you recommend we do, in light of the fact that really crazy anti-Jewish calumny is allowed to be spewed in our own House of Representatives? If the grandees of both parties won't bring the hammer down on these loons let's not pretend that normalcy reigns.

I wish I knew what to do about the antisemitism pouring out of the hard left wing. I'm open to suggestions, but honestly don't know how to get them to stop.

The best way a society has of dealing with deplorable views and acts is shaming and shunning. Tlaib, Omar and Greene should all be stripped of committee assignments. For starters. The should be denied party funds and support. And if AOC wants to pal around with Omar, she gets the same cold shoulder. Ask them the hard questions. Embarrass them. All of them.

Shame and mockery only work if the subject is capable of responding appropriately to shame and mocking. AOC is pretty smart, a good politician, and might be capable. Tlaib, Omar, and Greene aren't, and in fact seem to welcome the criticism as a means of fundraising on "they're attacking meeeeeee!"

I agree.

Bari Weiss’ book was as excellent and told the story in the proper manner.

Worth my reading, I trust? I remember an excerpt that was quite wonderful, but haven't dived into the entire book yet.

Yes, I found it very helpful in separating reality from what pop culture would have you believe about anti Semitism and the various groups that hold this ideology. In very concise paragraphs, Bari explains all of it. The best part, she treats them all with equal disdain. The book is actually very short. So it won’t take much time to get through. It’s also great to go back to for an unbiased perspective every now and then when anti Semitism makes its way into the press. I tried to get my liberal American friends to read it, but most of them suffer from a very short attention span - books are too much for this crowd, preferring sound bites from their echo chamber. Bari smashes all of the echo chambers and provides the truth.

The article from the Wash Post states, "Jurkowski, who has been with DCPS for seven years, makes $104,000, according to public records." 104k a year asst Librarian ! Of course they dont mention her long antisemitic history, religion race etc as I guess they thought not pertinent to the case. I had to get that from the Washington Free Beacon.
