None of these are good options with the exception of Manchin. I believe him to be the only Democrat mentioned that I would vote for. And of course, that would be after every Republican candidate dropped out. Bring on Vivek 2024!

Vivek is too young and too inexperienced. If China goes savage on Taiwan, the South China Sea, etc. I want someone with know-how in there. JFK had to learn on the job and it cost him his and almost the free world of its freedom.

Make him a VP pick, or grant him a cabinet position. He has a bright future ahead of him.

I have heard this argument before. That is why he would appoint a Secretary of Defense with some experience. There is also the entire Pentagon he can go to for advice. Obama didn't even have any real experience as a senator when he became president. Very few presidents have good foreign affairs experience when they get elected.

I think Vivek has already said he will let China have Taiwan. I like him a lot (invested in one of his funds) but I'm afraid foreign policy is his weakness.

If Vivek said let China have Taiwan, that is a MAJOR blunder.....I doubt he said that.

If China controls Taiwan, they control about 65% of the world's semiconductor market share. TSMC alone is 54% of the world's market share.

We're already in a technology war with China that we're losing.

How do you think this would go down?

No, what he actually said was, AFTER awe ramp up our OWN semiconductor production, he wouldnтАЩt have a strategic reason to defend it but as long as Taiwan is the producer of the majority of semiconductors - we have to protect it.. He just said the quiet part out loud. The part where the US should actually have some strategic reason (instead of being the worldтАЩs policeman for free) for why it spends our taxpayers money to defend other countries...

So Ramaswamy lacks experience. Who doesnтАЩt? No one has ever gotten the job because they did it before (except the incumbent). Listen to him speak or read his books. He has clarity of thought and an appealing vision of where he wants to take the country and how to get there. And he communicates!

I don't dislike Vivek. If he's the nominee he gets my vote. I agree that there is no true experience for the job, but given the danger China brings, the ongoing Ukraine war, I'd rather have DeSantis with his military resume, 9 years his senior, and Fla. governing experience.

Give VR a VP or cabinet slot. Given the choices, he's not ready yet

He has experience in the corporate world, starting 2 successful companies from scratch. He is smart and credentialed. He speaks with clarity, like DeSantis who I also like but feel is hamstrung by his obsession with woke, as if every problem we face starts with that. VR abhors woke-ism too, but has a more balanced view of what else we need to actually do to unite us. He wants us to be citizens with a shared love of country, forged in service and maintained with a view of our neighbors as equals, not preferred over others by race, gender or any other force beyond our control. Legal immigrants appreciate and love America for what it is and promises, not for what they can get out of us. That is my admittedly still forming view of Ramaswamy.

His experience in the corporate world taught him to turn to experts, gather opinions, and form a plan. A strong cabinet and advisors are critical for any president and Ramaswamy could attract, retain, and effectively use the best advice.

DeSantis speaks out against woke, but he isn't really obsessed with it. He talks about other things too, but Disney and "Don't Say Gay" is all the media want to report.

Every decision is ultimately made by the president. Again I use the example of JFK's inexperience that cost lives and global respect in the Bay of Pigs, eventually leading to the Cuban Missile Crisis showdown which he won by a very narrow margin.

Let's not take a chance with youth & inexperience. His time will come

Yes, but Manchin sold out when the big spending was on the line. However he is more palatable than some.
