Gavin?! Gavin Newsome as a potential candidate? After what he's done to Cali, you'd want to bring THAT... to the REST OF THE COUNTRY?!
No way man. No way...

I can't imagine what would possess Democrats to nominate Newsom.
Those commercials will write themselves.
I was thinking the same thing while reading the article. Exactly what record is Newsom going to run on versus DeSantis??? Especially given DeSantis's track record handling Covid, the economy and Hurricane Ian.
Gavin Newsome is good looking and more articulate than Biden or Harris (admittedly a low bar). Sure California, probably our most beautiful continental state, is a wasteland but never underestimate the ability of voters to ignore the obvious.
The four largest cities in CA: Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose and San Francisco all have lower crime rates than Miami even WITH all the stupid B.S. going on with lax prosecution of crime, eliminating bail, etc. SF also had the lowest COVID death rate of any large city (though if you add in fentanyl deaths the numbers don't look so great).
For now, De Santis can coast by claiming how much better Florida is than California but once he's the candidate some of that will start to be peeled away. Florida has the third largest homeless population in the U.S. and is the third largest state in population, so comparatively it's equal to California which is first in population and homelessness. In other words, neither state is really all that spectacular right now.
Let alone, there's the property insurance crisis happening in Florida, while DeSantis is "busy" visiting "99 counties in Iowa" while ostensibly "governing" Florida ; P (Oh, and with the 100 degree Atlantic waters this summer, this hurricane season looks to be... "spectactular.... which should super duper help that issue ; P - Oh well, Disney is having to fleck off the DeSantis Fly so that should compensate ; P)
Psst. California property insurers are pulling out. Something about fires and regs which prevent accurate cost analysis.
That's not the point. The point is that Florida is facing a similar crisis of property insurance with hurricane season right around the corner and it's putative governor is running around all 99 counties of Iowa - which he is only able to do based on a rule he got repealed that would have prevented a Florida Governor from actively campaigning during their term.
Sure it is the point.
Good for the goose, good for the gander and all that. But putative? My, my. By that theory we have a putative President. I gather you are perturbed that Governor DiSantis does not know his place. I on the other hand admire people that do not know their place. Maybe I need to give Di Santis more considerstion.
💯, I live in California, and I don’t know anyone who like King Gavin or would support him..same goes for Kamala-obviously
Yes, CA is a sh*tshow, in terrible shape. That's what a generation of "progressive" politics has done, ruin the once-shiny future. CA is no longer the future and hasn't been for some time.
We can't forget about Newson (the king of virtual signaling):
- Maskless at the Superbowl indoor when all the kids were still required to wear masks
- French Laundry
- Announced how CA would be the first state to make Covid-19 vaccines mandatory for kids to attend public school.
- Had a covid shot (moderna) and suddenly disappeared right after that.
- His kids are attending private school (nice to have school of choice when you have money). Private schools in CA were first to resume in-person class, while the public schools were dominated ( or better, hostage) by Teacher's union, needless to say the learning loss was rampant for kids w/o resources to pay for private school or tutoring.
-Set up a commission for reparations, the group came with an exorbitant amount to be paid off, he quietly (and quickly) dismissed the whole thing.
- Talk about gas companies charging high prices in CA but doesn't mention how much we pay is actually tax. Granted Gas companies are not innocent.. but the state is not either.
- California Covid-19 benefits payouts were probably one of the highest state fraud ever ($9.8 B)
- Homeless everywhere.
- Nominated Linda Darling-Hammond for the Cal State Board of Education - recently they approved a flawed Math framework that will emphasize equity instead of rigor , the framework was used in SF and failed miserably.
-Persecuting parents in Temecula and Chino Chills ( imposing a fine to the school district because of Harvey Milk and because they want to notify parents about transitioning and pronouns)
Good luck! He is the road to hell for the US.
But he's hot and charismatic. Women love him. Men respect him. Like Bill Clinton, JFK, or FDR. (TBF, Trump also won largely on charisma)
I think Trump won on Hillary Clinton dislike. And while he is long on personality, which I like, I do not think charismatic is an accurate description. I see Archie Bunker similarities myself.
Hot, my ass. He's got all the charisma of a plastic model of a Ralph's vanilla cupcake.
Very good article, Franklin 0’ Kanu. Thanks for sharing!
dear lord i FLED my home state of 42 years after all the crap he did to it. He was my mayor for years in SF (left soon after when my car was broken into several times and I my home was invaded and robbed while I slept), then watched in horror as he destroy the rest of the state, accelerated by Covid. I had to prep my 8 year old JEWISH daughter that we couldn't go into stores starting in 2022 if Newsom's laws were passed because we were "unclean unvaxxed" Thank god for Omicron which shut down that. And anyone just needs to read his tweets to see what a liar he is!!! He literally tweeted that CA didn't lose people over the last few years: how do you lose congressional seats if you don't loose population, Gavin??? He's a POS and the USA would be in a TERRIBLE place if he wins.
Same here. I'm a third generation California born, who grew up in the Central Valley when it fed the nation, and had enough after 12 years in the North Bay (Sonoma County while the husband commuted to the City). We got out of dodge just in time. The Golden State has become the Iron Pyrite State.
I so much want a Desantis v. Newsom race. The Republican campaign should consist entirely of filming people who moved from California to Florida telling why they made the move.
TX, please get down to Florida and take over the Desantis strategy team before they hammer the final nail in.
Leprosy is way up in Florida. (Really. Check the stats.)
SF is a shit hole.
Oakland is right behind it.
Newsome is a lunatic.
🤣😂🤣😂
We're talking about the Gavin Newsom that tried to bribe Rose McGowan into dropping her charges against Harvey, right?
Just to be clear, Democrats want a president who bribes rape victims into dropping charges to protect the rapists who donate to his campaign - that guy?
Nah, let's go with the woman who had fun dictating which aisles of the stores would be closed for COVID, and wouldn't let people travel between their own houses. Let's go with the leader who had the flat out, rock bottom most abusive mad stupid COVID policies. Let's have a leader who says "trust the science" while brazenly lying about the science.
Seriously this article was shocking. It's like every election season Democrats roll out the absolute worst people they have, sing their praises and then make sure each one gets to sit in a government position getting rich while screwing up their duties. And the Democrat voters have learned absolutely nothing.
I thought Gavin’s wife was Harvey accuser as well?
Even the physical and social scientists are corrupt - and to what a degree!
www.spectator.co.uk/article/science-fict…
Newsom had no problem claiming it was too dangerous to open California public schools during Covid while taking his child to an open private school. And of course the French Laundry. He is an absolute fraud.
Just like his talked-about running mate Gretch.
One of the easiest ways to separate and control people is to instill fear in them. Masks are the perfect vehicle. You can't see the other person, therefore you don't trust them. Gavin is very good at separating people.
For real...Gavin is the absolute worst, and then they throw in Gretchen? She is AWFUL. Ugh.
Gretchen Whitmer = Wretched Hitler.
Remember Kamala, if something happens to Joe, she's in. Of course there was the movie, Dave. Maybe the Dems would try that out to prevent Kamala from moving into the WH.
Jerzy Kosinski's Being There .. Peter Sellers for president
I just watched a piece on the news about San Fran - government workers are being told to work from home and not in the Nancy Pelosi federal building there. It's not safe downtown. Who runs SF? Who's district is the city in? I think DeSantis could tear him up, with facts alone.
right? Why can otherwise "educated" people only see the Allegory of the Cave here. Turn the F around and look at reality here, bro.
Something I realized recently is to stop looking down my nose at "uneducated" people. There's not much about my college degree that really makes me more knowledgeable or have better opinions than someone working construction all day. What a college degree gives you is expertise in a single field, and the ability to express yourself a bit better in rhetoric. This is more true than ever today with the de-emphasis on test scores for college admissions, and the over-emphasis of DEI as well as connections/recommendation letters. And it used to be just having a family wealthy enough to send you there.
Interesting stats---it used to be that college education people dominated the Republican party, while the blue collar workers tended to vote for Democrats. After 2015, the shift was dramatic: most college educated white people are progressive Democrats while the multi-ethnic working class has turned to the Republicans. (From Jean Twenge's book, "Generations" pp 380-400 ish.)
I have received absolute pearls of wisdom from people I have met on the street. Age has allowed me to be smart enough to know I really don't know sh*t.
Likewise for the Gretch. I have no intention of returning to my home state as long as she's the gov.
Yep, wait for this fall when Gretch’s union handlers destroy whatever is left of the MIchigan auto industry with a long strike for absolutely ridiculous demands.
Her campaign slogan? “Bitchin’ Gretchen!”
