Bari, Lex Fridman did a long interview with Jared Kushner. One thing Jared said that struck me—-

There are Muslim and non Muslim countries that would invest in Gaza, clean it up, create jobs, give these people hope. But Hamas won’t let that happen. The extent of Hamas’ evil needs to be known.

I would love for you to give Jared a chance on Honestly. Your readers should know what that young man was able to achieve in the Middle East, and how Biden has blown it all up.

One more thing, Bari. I grew up in the day of tough love. When I screwed up, I got a serious lecture, making me reevaluate my decisions was my parents’ goal. Learn. Don’t do that again. Are you reevaluating your decisions? The team you’ve chosen? The votes you’ve made in the past? Seems so. Keep going.

I too would like to hear Jared Kushner throw his ideas out there on FP. Some sound credible. Maybe at the same time he can explain how he convinced Saudi Arabia to give him 2 billion $ to invest on their behalf (at a management fee of $25 million/yr..). Perhaps from the confines of the Oval Office while he was there? Or his payback for helping out with the Abraham Accords?

He and Hunter should go slumming together, they both know the ropes, it appears..

No mention of 10% for the big guy. Deal made after Trump was out of office.

Sounds like Kushner impressed the Saudis enough to entrust 2 bil. A 25 mil fee is nothing unusual for this size investment. Doubt Jared does coke and makes videos of himself naked with underage girls, so unlikely they would enjoy each other’s company.

I guess you could say Jared has taken the art of lobbying to a whole new level. Pretty much just like did in elevating the noble practice of nepotism while cavorting in the WH as 'special' advisor to the big guy, with no appreciable skills in anything - and after much ado getting a security clearance. Now, he gets to manage a sizeable portfolio, with no demonstrable skills in investing.

And yeah, I can't see Jared and Hunter being seen together. But behind closed doors, who knows.

Cheers!

Why don’t you listen to his interview with Lex Fridman, available on youtube? He is a very smart guy. He did amazing work on the Abraham Accords. Who are you to say he has no skills in investing? The Saudis and their $2 billion see it otherwise.

Hunter? A total POS. No comparison.

Lex Friedman’s interview with Jared Kushner was an eye opener. I urge everyone to listen to it. Clearly, the Biden Administration foolishly created the ability of Hamas to attack Israel through its change in Iran policies. This would not have happened under Trump (and I am not a Maga republican).

I'm not a Republican, but I am full-throated MAGA.

Trump/MAGA is as much a threat to the GOP shore of the Swamp as it is to the Democrat shore, which is why the entire establishment of our government is so terrified and has tried so hard to stop or slow the movement by any means necessary. What do think this is? A democracy? 🗽

These last two weeks, as painful as they have been, have caused a lot of people to view Trump/MAGA vs. Woke/Marxism is a whole different light. I think change is a comin', change you really can believe in this time. Expect these next 12 months to be some of the most tumultuous times in not just American history but the entire world. Because the stakes are so high.

Well, MAGA apparently has succeeded in shutting down the House of Representatives. Congrats. Who knew it could be so easy? How is that working out? The change you're so eager for might come as soon as next month, when the gov't lights go out since no budget can be passed (never mind other meaningful legislation, like aid for Israel, remember that?), since there is no Speaker, because the children circus performers in the GOP hate each other so much, and have been at each others' throats since January. Yep, they sure know how to govern.

You're right about one thing, though. The entire establishment of the government is terrified, and maybe the rest of the country will be too. Perhaps they'll remember that a year from now.

Saying that MAGA shut down the business of the House of Representatives is like saying someone locked the gates on the collection of octogenarian subway cars stuffed in the bone yard of the NY Transit System.

It's just that the shuffling of the cars in the yard is a tad more interesting than usual.

It’s the only bone yard we have.

When the shuffling gets so onerous no cars can leave, that’s when business stops and the conductors go home.

It’s so silly to constantly virtue signal the MAGA

You know what it means?

MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN

What the fuck is wrong with that? Now it’s a major slur. Would the left be better with do t make America great? Sheesh

You are right - the left has turned MAGA into a slur, another word for deplorables. Thanks for pointing that out - I don’t believe Trump voters are deplorable!

Maureen, today we are told that personal responsibility is a white supremacist value. That's probably NYT and others rarely if ever truly apologize and admit they were wrong. And take responsibility for fomenting hatred here and around the world. Who has resigned or been fired ?

Kushner accomplished an amazing feat with the Abraham Accords. Anything good must be destroyed therefor the Accords must be destroyed, just like Sadat was destroyed for his work for peace.

“Anything good must be destroyed”

In the case of the Abrahm Accords, I’d modify that to “anything that might bring peace must be destroyed”

For four years the Middle East was given a reprieve from perpetual war. With the Abraham Accords, it was beginning to look like it could be lasting. But history, it seems is a difficult thing to change. The Middle East is where men of peace, like Anwar Sadat, have a history of being killed before their time. The most notable was crucified. Ironically, the last man to foster hope of peace is now being crucified, at least figuratively speaking, to prevent him from ever doing it again.
