I've never been a progressive, but I've always been quite liberal. I consider myself a pragmatist as opposed to an idealist.

Never has the difference between pragmatism and idealism ever been so stark. Never has such a large portion of the American left been so intolerant.

I sit here in California, having voting against the recall. Not that'd I reconsider, but seeing Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders in the ads against the recall is enough to at least make me question if I did the right thing.

It was a mistake to vote against the recall. Larry Elder is a solid candidate.

I know a lot of people like Zeke. People who are thoughtful, who consider the issues, who arguably care about our society, and yet still vote for this nonsense. Perhaps they are not as bad as the woke activists running the asylums, but as supporters, they are necessary accessories.

I don't "vote for this nonsense". I vote for pragmatists. The right is overwhelmingly a disaster, the left is only part of the way there.

While you say pragmatist and you can't state everything, you do not have specifics, even one...thanks.

I think many people are saying they disagree with you on that issue, myself included. The right is not тАЬoverwhelmingly a disasterтАЭ; the center right is probably the most practical of all the current ideas out there. Such as, letтАЩs stop doing the same thing, over and over again, and expecting a different resultтАж.remember what that is called?

No I didn't. The right has little of value to offer. Unless you want covid

Taibbi made the point today that it's now just like the religious right he used to be repulsed by.
