Well, a woman can suspect that she is pregnant two weeks or so after conception, when she misses ├а menstrual period. Four weeks later, she can be pretty sure. Even the do- it- yourself pregnancy tests are pretty reliable. I have four children and always knew I was pregnant before six weeks.
How about if we politcally support someone who supports such a bill? How about if we contribute to someone who supports someone who supports such a bill? How about if we socialize with someone who contributes to someone who supports someone who supports such a bill? HOW ABOUT if we like a tweet by someone who socializes with someone who contributes to someone who supports someone who supports such an evil bill?
This is not a reductio ad absurdam fallacy, it is exactly how the cancel culture works. A failure to adequately denounce is the same as enthusiastic support.
So, by the same logic YOU use, YOU must believe in arson as protest, looting a reparative economic activity, and dismiss women and motherhood in favor of "birthing people" and "menstruating people", right? You think free speech should be curtailed if it's "bad"?? Are you adjacent to people who think four-year-olds should be able to dictate medical treatments that have lifelong effects?? Because that's where the kind of thinking you are doing leads.
Not being mean here, I think the bill is way too harsh, myself (as someone who dislikes baby murder and euphemism). But the fact is, every more reasonable compromise has been rejected, and there have been PLENTY. Carveouts for rape and incest or viability, time limit of 16 weeks, 24 weeks, doesn't matter.
So, no. I am NOT supporting extreme Christian fundamentalist beliefs, I am looking for ways to express my very firm belief that nobody, NOT EVEN A F'ING BIRTHING PERSON, should be allowed by law to commit murder. You see the fine distinction there, Penny?
Yep...agree. The law is poorly written. Here is a quote from a writer Kate Rosenfield that captures my issues with the law "In short, if theyтАЩve got the time and inclination, individual Texans are now legally entitled to viciously interfere with another personтАЩs life". I believe you're correct that law will eventually be overturned. But lets be honest, Texas just gave the progressive left the gift that will keep on giving and could keep congress in the hands of the left when the mid-term hits.
Yeah this law is awful and dangerous. Even for many that believe life begins at conception. But I believe the courts will eventually get rid of it because it is anti freedom and plain bat shit crazy. Like you I don't belong to a political club but believe we need a viable true conservative alternative that believes the only thing the government should do is to protect our rights. Abortion is down significantly and none of it is a result of anti-freedom garbage like the Texas law. There are other ways to accomplish this. Texas has a right to honor the values of it citizens so the intent it not necessarily the issue. But this firmly makes woman complicit in criminality and that is bullshit. What is a short enjoyable moment for man is a life changing event for a woman. It is an un-American attempt taken right out the East German Stasi playbook that will allow assholes with a beef to destroy the lives of many. I am and believe religion can be a force for great good but many from the Southern Evangelical Movement have hi-tracked the GOP and portrays it as a conservative movement. Get rid of that element and focus on the benefits of freedom and the fact that Capitalism (while not perfect) is the only moral system and I'm confident it would be viable alternative to the crazy left. It is laws like this that will ensure that Texas will eventually move blue. And that would be tragic.
Keep in mind that we are talking on this website (thank you
Bari) and have found an alternative to socially controlled media.
Who are the engineers?
Good question. Perhaps an easier answer is who they are not.
DonтАЩt forget multinational corporations who are in the tank for the latter.

Texas will repeal its abortion law one millisecond after the first blue state uses the same vigilante lawsuit approach to strip gun rights.

My dad was a forever Republican when he was alive. He used to say, тАЬkill тАШem all. Let God sort them out.тАЭЁЯШЖ
Phew! I had NO ideer how many comments had gotten added. But You and me agreed on other issues, as I recall, RW. This is one-a 'em.
