I'm in my 40's, so I basically missed the entire Kardashian family's burgeoning empire 20 years ago. I wasn't so dumb as to think Kim was an airhead (although her voice can lead you to that conclusion) because I simply don't think she's given enough credit for her business acumen. I'm in my 40's, so I basically missed the entire Kardashian family's burgeoning empire 20 years ago. I wasn't so dumb as to think Kim was an airhead (although her voice can lead you to that conclusion) because I simply don't think she's given enough credit for her business acumen. But I've never watched the show or paid much attention to the family except to note that they seemed exceptionally close and that seemed genuine. And also that Kim was playing 4D chess in the marketing of herself during the rise of social media while the rest of us were playing checkers. She basically invented the social media influencer game, and you have to admire her ambition and tenacity while at the same time admit (sex video aside) that she's basically stayed above the fray. For all the drama and negativity you hear about celebrities (and often their horrible Twitter/Instagram political takes), you really don't hear that from her. She's busy making money, son!
However, I was absolutely surprised to see her burgeoning involvement and interest in justice (actual justice, not social justice) issues, and her support of Alice Johnson's case. That is the BEST kind of influencing--she knew Ivanka, who brought her to Jared, who got her to Trump. And positive shit happened. And it's continued to happen, and that was one of the best parts about Trump's presidency (the First Step Act and everything related). And I don't care how you feel about her (or even Trump), that's impressive. So I think it's great she passed the baby bar (and was honest about not passing it multiple times) and wants to get into law. Will she be successful? Not sure, but good for her for mixing it up when she's arguably one of the most successful women in the world and could rest on her laurels.
I thought the interview was great, fair, and not at all condescending (which often happens when people speak of/to Kim K.) I don't know--I just liked her.

Me too. Kim K. sounds like an intelligent, thoughtful person who has not let her wealth and success go to her head.
