I find it stunningly fascinating that Routh would plead "not guilty" in open court without everyone breaking into laughter given that he left a note in advance Routh’s that read: “This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump but I failed you.” This must be a case of mistaken identity - a different Ryan Routh? Or possibly, "I've never seen that letter before in my life". I realize that everyone has the right to plead "not guilty" but this one cannot pass the "haha" test. Just can't make this stuff up.
How easy would it be if all a detective had to do was scribble a note on a piece of paper stating, “I committed *** crime.” It’s hardly proof of anything.
I absolutely agree that that is not how we do justice in this country. Innocent until proven guilty. It was just the absurdity of the whole thing that struck me.
