So refreshing to see a very reasonable viewpoint from a medical professional. No one trusts Fauci or the CDC anymore because they have blatantly lied about alternative treatment options, the origin of this virus, natural immunity, masking and much more. I am not anti-vaccine but I will not take this particular vaccine because I am not only young and healthy but I have natural immunity from getting Covid and beating it in two days. I will not be forced into putting something in my body that based on the research, I do not need. In a few years from now, we will look back on this time with regret for the horribly unconstitutional mandates and the psychological damage that fear mongering and masking has done to kids. I hope we as a nation, and science, can recover from this - we need truth, moderation and bravery now more than ever.

Having spent most of my career in nuclear power, I worked a lot to handle the fearful responses that people had. Job 1 was to tell the truth, and to rationally show how the risks compare to those that people encounter daily (both voluntary and involuntary risks). Folks’ acceptance of the risk is dependent on the benefits and their ability to control it. (BTW: the CDC and bio-experimenting community should call the NRC and ask for help on how to stay inside the bounds of acceptable risk choices).

This rational approach was woefully absent for COVID, due to several issues, some very inexcusable. Fog of War errors will happen early, but if a Leader can’t correct course, he’s not a Leader.

Once the Leaders lose their credibility, whether it’s by suppressing information of China’s role, “one size fits all” (that people will endure for a limited time), or by telling “noble lies”, the road back is incredibly long and ugly.

I’ve insisted that it was possible even in a free society to admit unknowns but show why prudent actions were appropriate - as long as they were in fact prudent. The indiscriminate vaccinations of young people was (is) the most heinous departure from prudence. 10 years ago I’d have argued that it couldn’t happen here -driven by our Government.

“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself” was never more fitting. But the fear was an industry in and of itself. It’s still soaked in quite deep. I sit with relatives and hear their concerns and explain what I can, usually suggesting specifics they should ask THEIR doctors.

The damage won't be just psychological. I'm actually thinking of getting a law degree in time to cash in.

I have a law degree and the vast majority of the lawyers on my Texas Lawyers FB page are petrified of covid and have bought into the foolishness wholeheartedly. If a poor soul asks for a referral for say a medical worker with a valid health exemption they poster is immediately eviscerated. As is anyone (me) who says "[H]ey we are lawyer's, we are SUPPOSED to speak up for unpopular positions". It is embarrassing. For them, not for me.

Isn't that kind of what has happened with the ACLU completely changing course?
