Great interview! I really like how David articulates the above pressure on big tech CEOs: (U.S. senators saying "nice little social network you have there") and below pressure of employees and journalists whipping up online mobs. Regrettably, this is a very potent two-pronged strategy to limit free speech.

IтАЩm not convinced that Big Tech CEOs are under pressure from senators. I mean letтАЩs face it, most of them are sclerotic mental midgets that are old enough to remember wind up telephones. They're probably as bothersome as gnats to a dog. Frankly, I think itтАЩs the other way around. The Big Tech oligarchs are powerful enough to destroy anyone because they control the message. Not only that but their enormous wealth permits them to basically swing an election. Does anyone believe the $350 million in Zuckerbucks тАЬgrantsтАЭ to 2,500 election departments in critical districts was to ensure voting integrity of the 2020 election?

Thus far, the scam has mostly benefited democrats so it's certain that for the next couple of election cycles youтАЩll hear plenty of condemnation and chest thumping from republicans about taking down Big Tech. It's also pretty certain that if they do regain power, Big Tech will grant them access to the trough and any caterwauling emoted from the likes of Graham, McConnell and Romney will die down. It will take a remarkable populist to instill enough fear in senators to make good on their promises to return power to citizens. Unfortunately, there aren't many Teddy Roosevelts around yet despite his flaws and the numerous cartels aligned against him, Trump at least exposed the problem. Can he or maybe Governor DeSantis bring them to heel? Hope springs eternal but at least this time around, we know who the real enemy of freedom is.

Interestingly, during the hearings on the Jackson nomination, the way Ted Cruz was studying his mobile phone to see how well he was faring in the Twitterverse would suggest Republicans are already at the trough you describe.

I provided a partial list of trough feeders above but I don't think Cruz is one of them. Hyperbolic yes, but he seems more wedded to his pronouncements than what I would call a trough feeder.

Not sure what Ted Cruz was watching on his mobile perhaps some questions he wish to ask Mz Jackson but what I do know is the first thugs around the trough are Democrats the 2nd are MSM/Big Tech 3rd are the Corporations 4th seems to be Republicans and then there is us the people now the problems is how do we go thru all the layers to get the person and the party to lead us when we donтАЩt have proper voting rights (no ID for one)teachers who teach our children to hate America Universities who wonтАЩt let you come because you have a different political point of view Big Tech and MSM who silence you on the small screen and the internet no freedom of speech I think we are in big trouble and America needs an overhaul I pray it comes soon!! God willing

By the nature and passion of your comment I can only say that freedom of speech on the internet is alive and well right here.

I think we so compromised by whatтАЩs happened since President Trump was elected and cheated out of another 4 years to defeat these Tech Cancers is going to be a tall order and IтАЩm not sure if we can ever achieve it even if President Trump is elected in 2024 we may as well have a Twitter or Facebook election on line then the whole world can participate in our election that is what it seems at the moment there does not seem to be a solution now or going forward

A DeSantis/Tulsi ticket would be great. They are both social conservatives but differ/balance each other on economics.

I bet that ticket would care 48 out of 50 states.

DeSantis/Manchin. Manchin has the political chops in DC. DeSantis has the guts. ThatтАЩs if we re going for a unity ticket. I like Tulsi, a lot, but she basically quit, when she decided to toss her seat away on a hopeless run for President. Manchin has been there in thick and thin.

I love Tulsi Gabbard. She's smart, gutsy, and authentic. Even better, she can defend herself like a lioness from the inevitable smear campaign that would be waged against a DeSantis/Gabbard ticket. I love how she shredded Kamala Harris during the democratic primary and bitch slapped Hillary Clinton for calling her a Russian asset. Not only that, I'd love to see her in that fetching white dress again.

Agree. Trump will be in his eighties if he finishes a term beginning in early 2025. Haven't we had enough of these senile relics? I think Trump's policies were great regardless of whether you liked his persona. But we need new blood. A vital leader for a revitalized America.

I in process of reading Will Hurd's book that just came out. He's 44, I thin'. Some might not like him because he'll work across the aisle. I think voted Trump-like 80% of time. To me, that's an asset.

But he voted for Equality / Trans Act. That's a show-stopper with me.

To be fair, Trump's way of expressing himself was neanderthal and ultimately thwarted his purpose if it was indeed to right wrongs (though his own corrupt business dealings and nepotism were part of said swamp), he could have achieved this without using every phrase and sentiment in the book to insult entire communities and cause offense. His clumsy and vulgar rhetoric gave oxygen to those who thrive on corruption and the wasteland that is the status quo. If hed had the rhetorical skill of Obama, he aouldnt have ended up shooting himself in the foot.
