My daughters attended a law school graduation in NYC last week. They said it was the most irrational, unhinged, nightmare of an event they had ever witnessed. It was so bad, my future son-in-law – a mild-mannered Brit with a stiff-upper lip and easy going personality - got up and stormed out of the building.

For two hours, they were lectured and hectored by bitter, angry people who should have been celebrating but instead were spewing hateful rhetoric about how everyone and everything was racist, xenophobic, homophobic, transphobic, white supremacist and most of all...wait for it...ZIONIST.

The battle cry of the event was, "This is the year squatters evict their landlords."

In other words, to hell with property rights, even though they are the very foundation of a civilized society.

They concluded the event by reciting an oath "to uphold the law with impartiality." My daughters said they literally laughed aloud at the absurdity.

We are in trouble, friends. We are in very deep trouble.

Yes please. If they were proud enough to put the audience through it they should be proud of EVERYONE hearing all about it.

How deranged you have to be to ruin a special occasion with hateful rhetoric?

My son graduated from a top MBA school a couple years ago. The valedictorian was an African American gay woman whose speech—which was previewed and approved by the administration—was a recitation of greivances she experienced at the school. The class was 40% international students who must have been thrilled to have been accepted and gotten their MBAs there, we could have heard from one of them, but no, the audience of parents and friends had to endure this bitter, whiny woman. Turns out she not only had a full undergraduate scholarship to the school, she got a full graduate scholarship to the MBA program. She didn’t even graduate in the top 10% of the class.

My son, who graduated #5 out of 900, is paying off his student loans. Faithfully.

My condolences.

Both my children have paid off their loans early. I’m still paying a parent loan with minimal interest and could pay it off but most likely won’t. I did call and ask if I could have forgiveness because that’s what was being touted remember? “ Unfortunately ma’am you do not qualify.” Of course I didn’t qualify! I’ve been paying it!

Squatters and other homeless should occupy some of those nice new buildings on college campuses and or create tent cities on the quad. The squatters probably have one of their useless degrees back home in their parents house.

Maybe Taylor Swift’s speech at NYU as reported in the WSJ, was actually the best of the lot after all.
