What is happening today on our college campuses—the places where our future leaders are nurtured, but more often pampered, pandered to, insulated, and infantilized—is not new. Since the very first days of The Free Press, we have been reporting on it.
But the need to restore wisdom, open inquiry, and common sense to our universities has never been more urgent than at this moment.Â
That’s why we’re sponsoring 1,000 paid yearlong subscriptions to The Free Press. And every college administrator in the country who wants one is eligible. We extend a special invitation to DEI administrators (or facilitators, consultants, trustees, unpaid interns—we won’t judge) to join us.Â
By subscribing to The Free Press, you’ll gain access to a wealth of thought-provoking content, expert analysis, and insightful commentary from a wide range of perspectives. We are committed to upholding the principles of free speech, intellectual diversity, and the ideals that once were the bedrock of great journalism: honesty, doggedness, and fierce independence.Â
Gird yourselves: you will not encounter a trigger or content warning, a land acknowledgement, or anything approved by a sensitivity reader.Â
Claiming your free subscription is as simple as filling out this form. If you know someone who could benefit from this offer, please pass the form along. Together, we can bring an end to the insanity and start to fix our very, very big problems.Â
Bari, I hope you will let us know if this is actually applied for, and if so, do you think it was the right administrators? Not all in college administration roles can be of the mind I think you intended this for in your announcement above. A great Idea though. Why not offer it also to all writers at the NYT's and anchors at MSNBC or CNN? Just a thought. Its all just "e" communications anyway and I doubt either group (college administrators or writers/anchors) who take it up would cannibalize from your potential paying subscribers.
Update: no one at Pitt DEI took me up on the author, or even bothered to send me a nasty reply!
