The NY Times is expert at phrasing its reportage in such a way that the reader is led to side with whatever side the NY Times supports. One of the most frequent tactics it uses is the cherry picking of facts. I beg your indulgence for a pointed joke.

A child falls into the lion enclosure at the Central Park Zoo. Just as a lion is about to attack and devour the child an Israeli tourist jumps over the fence, punches the lion in the snout and jumps back to safety with the child. The next day the Times headline reads, "Israeli attacks African immigrant and steals his lunch".
