I just did a paid subscription based on this essay. This is the first publication of any type I have seen that has called attention to this issue of blaming white supremacy for attacks on Asians. People need to wake up and stop watching and subscribing to media sources that won't tell the truth or that outright misrepresent a story to promote a woke agenda.

Ditto.

I am Asian, born and raised in NYC. The violent crimes described by Bari and race on race discrimination have been occurring in NYC since I can remember. In order to not get mugged in NYC one always had to be cognizant of who was around you, and, sadly, sometimes you would cross the street, move to another subway car, whatever it took. The difference now is the NARRATIVE, which buries or distorts stories of violence against Asians when the inconvenient truth is that there are no white supremacists to be found. Whether it is the car-jacking in DC by two teens resulting in the death of a Muslim, or violence against Asians in SF of all places, it is the same old same old. Bari - you are brave to speak the truth and by supporting you we can counter Cancel Culture.

I am Jewish, born and raised in NYC (circa 1950s and 60s). The violent crimes described by Bari and race on race discrimination have been occurring in NYC since I can remember. In order to not get (beat up or) mugged in NYC one always had to be cognizant of who was around you, and, sadly, sometimes you would cross the street, move to another subway car, whatever it took. The difference now is the NARRATIVE, which buries or distorts stories of violence against Asians (Jews) when the inconvenient truth is that there are no white supremacists to be found (in NYC or SF or Oakland or DC). Whether it is the car-jacking in DC by two teens resulting in the death of a Muslim, or violence against Asians in SF (Hasidic Jews in NYC) of all places, it is the same old same old. Bari - you are brave to speak the truth and by supporting you we can counter Cancel Culture.

I just subscribed also for the same reason. It's a shame when truth and reality seem like a breath of fresh air. In today's climate of distortion it takes courage to speak truth and I am grateful for Ms. Weiss' courage. She showed it in her triumphant exit from the NYT.
