Interesting that Egypt took note of Trump's plan and thought, "Hmmmm, what if we did something *realistic* with Gaza?" They'll need to explain how they'll deal with Hamas, the biggest obstacle to peace there. Interesting also that they're trying to stave off an influx of Palestinian refugees who are considered 'security threats'. I wonder why....? I thought those people were *sinless*.....
It's nice to imagine that some particular political personality can make big changes to the party but more likely he'd just do the same sorts of things the Democrats did through Joe Biden in 2021-2024. Trump excepted, it doesn't really matter who the nominee is; the party is the party. The Democrats will be the Democrats no matter what figurehead they choose as leader which means all the crazy stupid stuff they did in 2021-2024 from open borders to trans lunacy to DEI will rematerialize instantly; it's in their DNA at this point.
Shapiro is the Jewish Newsome--too slick by half. The strongest Jewish candidate for President, as she proved tonight, is Elissa Slotkin. Slotkin grew up in a prosperous Jewish family on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. My wife's son used to play with her. But in a valuable way politically for Michigan and the Rust Belt, she looks more "Polish" than "Jewish," so she won a Congressional district Trump also wins, and then last November, she won the whole state of Michigan, which Trump obviously took too. And her rebuttal to Trump tonight was pitch perfect: focused like a laser on the economy and the other things the American masses care most about.
Not super familiar, but has Tate ever been convicted of a crime? Are we to slurp up, like baby birds, whatever government officials/media serve up? No thank you very much; I’ll listen to the PBD podcast and think for myself.
I've only recently heard of these guys and am not impressed.
The broader public—and even the regular Trump voter—will not tolerate the valorization of a goofy metrosexual pimp. Ron DeSantis won’t tolerate it. And Trump shouldn’t either.
Josh Shapiro lost me when he signed a missile, along with Zelensky, destined for Russia at a weapons manufacturing plant. Stunt or no - it was disgusting.
Todays podcast on Honestly featured a few stunning ideas formulated by Batya Ungar-Sargon and Christopher Caldwell, without any further discussion or pushback, on this FP feature which Bari claims is bringing us “all points of view”.
First he hear from Ungar-Sargon that Putin’s Russia (yeah, that country where you get arrested for protesting in the street by holding a blank piece of paper and where political prisoners die in the Arctic) is actually our long lost friend, who would just love to be our partner! So Obama was not just right - Russia is no threat! - but actually much more - they’re our buddies!
Second, we also heard that the conflict in Ukraine is just a “territorial conflict”! Poor Putin, he can write essays, he can have speeches saying loud and clear that Ukraine has no right to exist, that it’s not a real nation and it’s his intention and sacred duty to erase it from the map, and nobody in the West is listening! Or maybe Caldwell is right, it’s a conflict over territory, with the little detail that Putin wants 100% of Ukraine’s territory.
Once we got started that way, we also heard that any morality in politics is useless, an out-of-fashion relic from WWII. That barely got a minor pushback from Bari, who declared herself “uncomfortable” with it, without any further discussion. The corollary of this bold new approach would be that the Cold War was a major, stupid and expensive mistake. Why not recognize the annexation of the Baltic States by the Soviet Union and at least make noises about human rights in the Soviet block when we could have been buddies with Stalin and sung Kumbaya!
If the US doesn’t want to support Ukraine, fine, just tell them: “You’re on your own, good luck!” and be transactional with Russia, but do we have now to pretend that we’re friends with bloody dictators and we’re going to be “partners”? Do we have to say all these idiotic things? Not to mention that if Putin at some point crosses Trump and makes him look bad, he’s going to say that Putin and Russia are bad, and all these two bit “commentators” are going to shift again their opinions. Reality is what Trump says.
Amen. The only thing I quibble with here is that Trump would ever say Putin’s bad. I don’t know what’s going on there, but it’s deep. The way he got genuinely, emotionally upset when Zelensky suggested Putin wasn’t a trustworthy guy was extraordinary.

Kamala...
Runs screaming from the room.
I've been saying it - Josh Shapiro for President! One of the few Dems that has a chance due to his commonsense approach. Also he has charisma.
Tate is poisonous and in no way conservative in any normal sense. Bravo Governor DeSantis.
THOUGHT I WAS GETTING A BETTER REEPORTING JOB THAN THE HACK PIECE ON SHAPIRO, LIKE SOME REPORTING ON THE SLEAZY SIDE OF SHAPIRO
BALANCED JOURNALISM, NO HIDING BIG DEALS, SHODDY REPORTING , WE ALL KNOW LOTS!
?
The Democrats have a very deep bench. They need a good coach to get them the gold medal. I nominate The Ragin’ Cajun, James Carville.
“Defund the police, the three stupidest words in the English Language”. (James Carville)

ANORA looks like a shitty film and I would keep your daughters far away from it imho.
