I'm a Republican and there's a good chance I'm going to vote for this guy (CA is an open primary state) just out of desperation. GOP standard bearer Brian Dahle may be a very nice man, but he ain't gonna win. However coming across as a conservative Democrat is easy in a land populated by total Left-wing nutcases (those are the officeholders, not the voters.)
The question isn't "can Michael get the vote of a Republican desperate for sanity?" The question is "can Michael get the vote of the people who elect the Left wing loonies?" That's considerably less certain. His ballot designation may help: "Homelessness Policy Advocate"
