I live in Oakland and do business as a contractor in a city that has a corrupt and inept building department that gouges the public and offers very little value for their service. Basic law and order is unevenly and ineptly enforced. Homeless encampments and massive trash piles appear everywhere. Businesses are robbed routineIy by organized gangs that drive stolen cars through their storefronts. It is routine for cash businesses to get their tills emptied during peak business hours and if they are lucky a patrol car will stop by for a few minutes. I know a company that refuses to install garage doors in Oakland after their van was stolen and the police refused to follow their very incriminating evidentiary leads regarding the organized theft ring that stole it. A mile away from my home, stores at the Foothill Square were looted during the riot summer. My majority black Oakland Hills neighborhood has always had far fewer BLM signs than the far whiter areas where I work and almost none now. Angela Y. Davis, the celebrity leftist who has written extensively to promote decarceration under the guise of "abolition" so she can steal some thunder from Frederick Douglas and company, lives in these hills, enjoying her bourgeoise retirement in one of the cleaner and safer parts of a city with a defunded police department that can't manage the basics of public safety.

Marxist "woke" is the lipstick on a pig called totalitarian criminal finance.
