You became my hero when I first read your piece about leaving the New York Times. I thought, “Now here’s someone I’m going to keep track of.” (I was never a reader of the NYTimes) Lo and behold, along comes tfp! It’s the first thing I read in the morning, which is a big help in keeping my seatbelt on in the midst of all the maniacal madness around us. Another place you've been quoted recently Bari was at church last Sunday during the priest's sermon. He then went on to discuss DEI and if diversity, equity and inclusion are fundamental values, meaning they are always and in every case a good thing. (Spoiler alert; they're not.) At the conclusion of his homily, the congregation applauded. This never happens. It isn't done. Thought you'd be amused to know this.
Bari was once the perfect example of he woke Left - living in the belly of the beast working and writing for the truly detestable New York Times. And now look what she's created. A bastion of rationality, truth and free speech. How do we create more Bari's?
Been a subscriber since Common Sense. I am a centrist, always willing to look at various sides of an issue. The Free Press does this, and is not afraid to intelligently take on tough subjects that the legacy press either won't touch, or will only report one side of. (And in legacy press, I include both 'left' and 'right' outlets.) Bari, you have every right to toot your own horn a bit here. I regularly forward articles and recommend TFP to others. The Free Press has made a difference in my life……for the better! I am Canadian and I do not have a national news option, similar to the Free Press in approach, that I can read everyday. I read the Globe and Mail for many years and while we still subscribe ( because my husband is a loyal reader) I no longer expect to find objective, truthful reporting there. I began reading the Free Press about a year ago and after a few months I subscribed. I appreciate the high quality of journalism at your outlet. Reading T G I F is a highlight of my week…..hilarious! Douglas Murray’s Sunday article about poetry and poets is also amazing. I am delighted that Free Press articles and media are being shared around the world and that your outlet is being recognized for the excellent work it produces. One of the best decisions I made becoming a subscriber to The Free Press. I stopped watching local and national news years ago due to the lack of quality and honesty. Now I look forward to my daily dose of The Free Press to keep me informed and thought provoking. Look forward to another year.
