I listened to Bari’s prologue and was excited to hear the discussion until Brianna Wu started to speak. Trump has disavowed a project 2025 and gays and trans people are not going to be put in internment camps. I am sure that there was some other LGB person who could have presented a more reasonable discussion, pro Harris or not. Enough already!

I find it unsettling that 1/3rd of The Free Press staff voted for Trump. I am a true independent, my votes this year were evenly split between republicans, democrats and write-ins.. I live in Oregon so I didn't have to vote for Kamala and wrote in Dean Phillips. There is only one issue I can not understand the other side. And that is voting for Trump after 2020. I would take literally anyone over Trump. AOC or MTG would be better. What Trump did and said after the 2020 election is disqualifying. He sat there drinking his diet coke and watching on TV the capital police being assaulted and he did nothing. You can't do that and then get to be President again. I assumed almost everyone at the Free Press would have thought the same.

Gosh - how open minded of you!

I certainly don't. What concerns me far more is NPR - funded by taxpayers - the only conservative on board left perhaps a year ago. They are hostile to any viewpoints but their own. NPR to get on board with representing the entire political spectrum, otherwise it's state-sponsored democratic propaganda. FTLOG

I get what you're saying and I'd agree if some of the left's more insane views weren't baked into the policies we've seen since 2020.

I hate Trump as an individual, so I didn't vote for him. I also hate racist laws and policies, so I didn't vote for Kamala.

I for one can understand someone voting against any democratic candidate. Wokeism is just one example. I am very happy that Bari has created a bi-political news site. Or even tri. Thank you Bari!

This is the reason why I subscribe. I suggest you listen to the podcast Bari did with Sam Harris and Ben Shapiro. I know it won't change your mind, and why should it, but it might help you understand the reasons behind a Trump vote.

I think people underestimate the effect of the press and politicians (Like Eyes McShifty) relentlessly lying about a person can have (think Russiagate). In all honesty, I were in Trump's shoes during his 2016-2020 term I might believe the election was stolen. I am quite certain that if I asked my liberal friends if they could cheat and get away with in order to keep Trump out of office would they do it? I suspect many would say yes. We had a person here in MI who was paid 7 figures to generate 10,000 Biden votes. I'm not sure what happened because the press have largely ignored the story.

Lastly, middle America doesn't care about personal pronouns, backs Israel, wants a secure border, is worried about it debt, doesn't want their kids indoctrinated, etc. Many aren't voting for Trump, they're voting against a Democratic party that has gone wild...

The biden/harris admin has tons of pro iran/anti americans on staff and Harris has promised to keep many---some are responsible for leaking israel's war plans: Tabatabai, Mehar Bitar, Mally, Ellison, Bargzie, Basrawie, Goldenberg, Fazili, Abdellal, Maier, AOC, Ilhan, Rashida and more. Watch "bringing the war home" by canary mission. see eli.ezra.official posts on this. Our gov is being subverted by those working against our best interests. WW3 is here and none of our enemies fear her. She has NOT gotten our hostages home. She will continue to fund Iran and their terror proxies. Do you think Iran with Nukes is dangerous?? Do you want your kids fighting in WW3? If not, vote for the team of ideas; Rogan, Musk, Tulsi, RFKJ, Rubin, Kelly, O'Leary, Ackman, etc.

I agree with Bari on the need to present both sides which is why I subscribe to The Free Press, but when a would be leader’s actions and proposals violate our constitutional standards and our values then he or she should be called on them. Otherwise, we enter a dark world that we fight other countries on. Why would we protest Putin and Xi and not work to stop a dictator in the making at home?

What is a "dictator in the making"? Is this the "Trump as dictator" theme? How does one function as a "dictator" for 4 years and then leave? Is there anyone in history who has become a "dictator" at 78 y/o (without a long history in political power?)

Why or how would we "protest" Putin or Xi? They exist. They do things. we have to deal with them. We could protest how our leaders deal with them - that's part of why we'd vote for one candidate over another.
